The invention relates to a semi-finished product, which is manufactured from raw liquid, raw extract or raw powder obtained from wood material, an end product composition for skin or hair care being obtained from the semi-finished product by adding one or more components thereto. The semi-finished product optionally contains a UV protector, and it is a liquid, such as solution, emulsion, microemulsion or nanoemulsion or a semi-solid substance, such as dispersion, suspension, wax, lotion or gel or a solid substance, and the skin or hair care composition (the end product) can be manufactured from the semi-finished product by adding liquid thereto.
