PISTON-CYLINDER DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING AXIAL POSITION
The invention relates to a fluid media driven piston-cylinder device comprising a first assembly including a cylindrical barrel (22) with a front end cover (1 ) and a rear end cover (2), a second assembly including a piston (3) guided by the barrel (22) and a piston rod (4) fixed to the piston (3) and extending in an axial direction out through an opening (12) in the front end cover (1 ), and a contact arrangement providing an electrical contact between the first and second assembly. The contact arrangement comprises a electrical conductor device (5) having a variable length in the axial direction and being located within the cylindrical barrel (22), a rear contact surface (7) associated with the second assembly and arranged for establishing an electrical contact with a rear end portion of the electrical conductor device (5), and a front contact surface (6) associated with the first assembly for establishing an electrical contact with a front end portion of the electrical conductor device (5). The invention also pertains to a method for detecting an axial position of a piston of a fluid media driven piston-cylinder device relative to an at least partly electrically conducting external object. Using the invention, a contact arrangement including a spring loaded mechanism that slides along a piston rod surface in the piston-cylinder device can be avoided in crust breaker systems, which system comprises the piston-cylinder device and a smelting pot. In this way, the electrical conductor device is not subjected to wear, high friction and contamination.

A pressure controlling valve includes a slidable spool arranged to be spring loaded towards a neutral position. A first port and a second port are connected to allow a fluid flow through the valve. A first and a second pilot port are connected to a cavity adjacent a respective first and second end surface of the spool. The pilot ports are connected to a fluid conduit on either side of a fluid device causing a pressure drop in the fluid conduit and the fluid device is connected to one of the first or second ports. The spool is displaced against the spring load in response to a pressure difference between the first and the second pilot port, whereby a control surface of the spool is arranged to restrict the fluid flow through the valve when the control surface approaches a central cavity.
The invention relates to a hydraulic system comprising a source of high pressure (A), a consumer (C) connectable to the source of high pressure (A) via a flow control valve (21 ), and a solenoid valve (22) arranged to control the flow control valve (21 ). The hydraulic system further comprises a hydraulic pilot valve (31 ) selectively controllable by the solenoid valve (22) to connect a control chamber (28) in the flow control valve (21 ) either to the source of high pressure (A) or to a low pressure side (T). When the solenoid valve (22) is actuated, the consumer (C) is pre-pressurized via a by-pass conduit prior to the opening of the flow control valve (21 ). At the same time, the source of high pressure (A) is arranged to act on a first and a second end (32, 33) of the hydraulic pilot valve (31 ) wherein a spring (36) is arranged to displace the hydraulic pilot valve (31 ) and connect the control chamber (28) to the low pressure side (T) to open the flow control valve (21 ).

The power generating unit comprises a housing removably mounted on the source of rotational energy, an input shaft adapted to be connected to the source of rotational energy, said input shaft comprising a first end provided with means for engaging the input shaft to a power output interface on the source of rotational energy, a second end connected to a hydraulic pump and means for selectively engaging the input shaft to the hydraulic pump.
