The present invention concerns a wound dressing with improved adhesive and atraumatic properties. The wound dressing comprises a backing layer, an absorbent wound pad and a perforated atraumatic wound contact layer. The absorbent wound pad comprises super absorbent fibers and a net layer. The atraumatic wound contact layer comprises a polyurethane layer, an adhesive acrylic layer and an adhesive silicone layer as skin adherent. The backing layer and the perforated atraumatic wound contact layer are bonded together at the edge region.

A packaged wound dressing is provided by means of a production apparatus and conveyed to a sterilization module by means of a conveying device. Abstract

The invention relates to a functional wound dressing being able to detect and indicate the state of the wound, in particular with regard to an infection which is reported to be frequently associated with poorly healing wounds, such as chronic wounds. The wound dressing (1, 7, 9, 11, 13) is characterised in that the coating (4, 8, 10) can facilitate adhesion of cells, and the coating (4, 8, 10) forms one or more webs on the wound-facing side of the wound contact layer (3). The coating (4, 8, 10) is used in particular to direct migration of cells involved in wound healing, in particular fibroblasts or keratinocytes. The invention also relates to a method for producing the above-mentioned wound dressing (1, 7, 9, 11, 13).
