Systems and methods for generating a three-dimensional simulated world with dynamically presented content. A request is received from a user to access the three-dimensional simulated world. A virtual location or a virtual time is determined for the user within the three-dimensional simulated world. Content is then selected for the user based on the virtual location or the virtual time. A content placement location is also determined for the content within the three-dimensional simulated world. The three-dimensional simulated world is generated for the user based on the virtual location or the virtual time. Moreover, the three-dimensional simulated world is augmented with the selected content presented at the determined content placement location, which is then presented to the user.

An augmented reality method for enabling portal functionality in a multi-dimensional fabric user interface is described herein. The method includes: creating a simulated space in the multi-dimensional fabric user interface; calculating a virtual representation of the physical space using the captured images and measurements; placing the virtual representation of the physical space into the simulated space; creating an initial portal in the multi-dimensional fabric user interface that connects to the virtual representation of the physical space in the simulated space; enabling one or more users to access the portal in the multi-dimensional fabric user interface to enter the virtual representation of the physical space in the simulated space; and enabling the one or more users to interact with virtual objects in the virtual representation of the physical space in the simulated space.
