Abstract

[Problem] To reduce waiting time at a cash register caused by a reading delay of a commodity code. [Solution] A pre-handling device 300 reads a commodity code added to each commodity Gb that is in a waiting state at a cash register, and stores the read commodity code in a memory 304. When the cash register becomes available, the pre-handling device 300 extracts the commodity code stored in the memory 304, converts the extracted commodity code into a QR code (registered trademark), and displays the QR code on a touch panel display 301. The commodity code of the commodity Gb is inputted to a POS terminal 200 by reading, by means of a scanner 212 of the POS terminal 200, the QR code displayed on the touch panel display 301.

[Problem] To provide a reader and information-providing system that ensure convenience when reading, while reducing the effect of radio waves. [Solution] A reader 20 reads information from an RF tag 12 attached to a product P. The reader 20 is provided with a shield part 44 that has an opening 30 formed therein and accommodates the product P via the opening 30, and an antenna 60 that emits radio waves for communicating with the RF tag 12 attached to the accommodated product P. The reader 20 reads information from the RF tag 12 when the shield part 44 is open.

Abstract

A mobile connection unit, configured to connect a mobile terminal having a first terminal with a mobile reading unit having a second terminal and configured to read data from an information medium, includes a main body, a first terminal portion, a second terminal portion, and an electrical pathway. The main body is attached to the mobile terminal, and the reading unit is attached to and detached from the main body. The first terminal portion is disposed at the main body, and contacts the first terminal of the mobile terminal for electrical connection with the mobile terminal. The second terminal portion is disposed at the main body, and contacts the second terminal of the reading unit for electrical connection with the reading unit. The electrical pathway is disposed between the first terminal portion and the second terminal portion to connect the mobile terminal and the reading unit.

Abstract

[Problem] To provide a reading device, a program, and a unit for enabling an intuitive reading operation. [Solution] A reading device 2 is provided with: a smartphone 8a for reading information from an image of a symbol 6 included in a taken image generated by a camera module; and a unit 30 attached to the smartphone 8a. The unit 30 is provided with a semiconductor laser 42 for displaying a marker 62 within an image-taking range S of the camera module. Simply by adjusting the attitude of the reading device 2 in such a manner that the marker 62 is superposed on the symbol 6, information relating to the symbol 6 can be read by a reading process of the smartphone 8a.

Abstract

A cover set includes a first cover and a second cover. The first cover and the second cover have device fitting parts that have the same shape and size. A peripheral device is fitted in the device fitting parts. The first cover and the second cover have terminal fitting parts that have different shapes and sizes. A first mobile information terminal having a large size is fitted in the terminal fitting part of the first cover. Another mobile information terminal having a small size is fitted in the terminal fitting part of the second cover. This allows a user to select a mobile information terminal that is used together with the peripheral device as appropriate.
