Abstract
[Problem] To provide: an ink composition for reversibly thermochromic stamps, whereby a seal image does not decolor even when left in a high-temperature environment; and a stamp comprising same. [Solution] An ink composition for reversibly thermochromic stamps, containing water, a thickener, and a reversibly thermochromic microcapsule pigment containing therein a reversibly thermochromic composition comprising: a component (A) being an electron-donating color-developing organic compound; a component (B) being an electron-accepting compound; and a component (C) being a reaction medium that reversibly causes an electron exchange reaction between components (A and B) in a specified temperature range. The reversibly thermochromic composition exhibits a first color phase at a complete coloring temperature, exhibits a second color phase at a complete decoloring temperature higher than the complete coloring temperature, is capable of mutually changing coloring by changing the temperature, exhibits hysteresis characteristics whereby one of the color phases is held in a temperature range between the coloring start temperature and the decoloring start temperature, has a coloring start temperature of no more than 15°C, and has a complete decoloring temperature of at least 80°C.
Disclosed here is a method for producing a decolorizable electrophotographic toner, comprising mixing a first dispersion liquid in which a colorant is dispersed in an amount such that the content of the colorant in the toner is from 5% to 35% by weight, with a second dispersion liquid in which particles containing at least a binder resin and having a volume average particle diameter of 500 nm or less are dispersed, aggregating the colorant and the particles containing at least the binder resin, thereby obtaining aggregated particles, fusing the aggregated particles at a temperature lower than a completely decolorizing temperature of the colorant to obtain the toner, and measuring the number ratio of particles having an equivalent circle diameter of 0.6 μm or more and 2.5 μm or less of the toner using a flow particle image analyzer after the toner is subjected to a stirring treatment.

Disclosed is a thermochromic color-memorization type toner which comprises both a microencapsulated pigment that comprises microcapsules containing a thermochromic color-memorization type composition enveloped therein, and a binder resin, and which exhibits such hysteresis characteristics that in a temperature-rise process where the temperature of the pigment in a color-developed state is raised, the decoloration of the pigment begins at a temperature t3, and the pigment is kept in a decolored state at a temperature region not lower than a temperature t4 which is higher than t3, while in a temperature-drop process where the temperature of the pigment in a decolored state is lowered, the color development of the pigment begins at a temperature t2 which is lower than t3, and the pigment is kept in a color-developed state in a temperature region not higher than a temperature t1 which is lower than t2, whereby a color-developed state and a decolored state can be alternatively sighted in a temperature region between t2 and t3, with t1 being -50 to 0°C, and t4 being 50 to 150°C. It contains a shear-thinning tackifier and the aqueous vehicle contains a water-soluble organic solvent which substantially comprises a solvent showing a solubility parameter (SP) of about 8 to about 11. In this composition, the content of the shear-thinning tackifier is from about 0.1 to about 20% by mass while the content of the water-soluble organic solvent is from about 1 to about 20% by mass, and the shear-thinning tackifier/ water-soluble organic solvent ratio (by mass) is from about 1/1 to about 1/40.
