Abstract
An arrangement for optically capturing a railroad track includes a carrier device, a camera, and two light sources. The arrangement is mountable on a carrier vehicle that is movable on rails. The alignment of the two light sources and thus the central axes of the emitted light radiation or waves enclose an acute angle with a longitudinal axis of the rail. The light sources are coupled with the camera via control signal lines. The triggering or activation of the light sources is effected via the control signal lines by a predefined control signal. This achieves detailed, sharp image contours that allow high-precision image evaluation and object recognition at the highest possible working speed.

Abstract
The invention relates to a method for tamping a plurality of sleepers of a track supported in a ballast bed by means of a plurality of tamping units arranged one behind the other on a machine frame of a track tamping machine with tamping tools opposite each other in pairs, with only one sleeper being tamped by means of the respective tamping unit during a tamping process. In this context, a control device for actuating longitudinal actuators is given a sleeper spacing of the sleepers to be tamped, with the tamping units being positioned towards each other in the longitudinal direction of the machine by means of the longitudinal actuators prior to a tamping process in order to adjust the positions of the tamping units to the given sleeper spacing, and with sleepers not arranged directly one behind the other being tamped during the tamping process. Due to the distance of the tamping units from each other in the longitudinal direction of the machine by more than one sleeper spacing respectively, sufficient free space to adjust to different sleeper spacings is available.

The vibrations being transmitted via the track are measured by a sensor distanced from the work unit and with measuring data of the sensor being evaluated in an evaluation device. In that, a position of the sensor with respect to the work unit is given to the evaluation device, with a correlation between a vibration effect of the work unit detected with the sensor and a distance between the work unit and the sensor being calculated in the evaluation device. The method has the advantage that the vibration effect of the work unit can be detected in real time at the location of the sensor.

Abstract
A method for determining a target geometry of a track for correcting the geometry of the track. An actual geometry of the track is detected first on a track section by a measuring system and the target geometry is calculated on the basis of the actual track geometry afterwards by way of a computing unit. Actual position points of the track are detected along the track section by a position detection system, with at least one actual position point being given to the computing unit as a point of restraint, and with the target geometry being calculated by the computing unit such that the target geometry is adapted to the actual geometry as a sequence of geometric track alignment design elements and is placed through the preset point of restraint. The method achieves a significant increase in quality compared to the known compensation method using pre-measurement.

Abstract
A method for controlling/regulating a rotatory drive of a working unit of a track maintenance machine includes using a sensor to record a measurement parameter with an approximately periodic history function derived from a rotation of the drive. A frequency or period duration of the history function is determined with an evaluation device, and the frequency or period duration is compared with a target parameter for stipulating a control signal. A number of time-discrete measurement values is formed for the measurement parameter and an auto-correlation of these measurement values is carried out by a calculation unit for determining the frequency or the period duration. As compared to a conventional method with zero stage recording, a precise recording of frequency changes is therefore also possible between two zero stages. A device for carrying out the method is also provided.

Abstract
The invention relates to a method and a machine comprising a tamping assembly for tamping sleepers (4), mounted on a ballast bed (2), of a track (3) by means of a tamping assembly (7) which is intended for simultaneously tamping a plurality of sleepers positioned directly one behind the other and comprises a plurality of tamping units (14) that are arranged directly one behind the other in a working direction (26), are height-adjustable independently of one another, and are each intended for tamping a particular sleeper (4), wherein: in a tamping cycle, firstly a first group of tamping units (14) that are not arranged directly one behind the other is lowered into the ballast bed (2), fed laterally and raised again; a second group of tamping units (14) that are not arranged directly one behind the other is preferably lowered into the ballast bed, fed laterally and raised again; and, before the start of the next tamping cycle, the tamping assembly (7) is moved further in the working direction (26). This prevents two tamping tools (18) from operating simultaneously on the same ballast grains in close proximity.

Abstract
A method for stabilizing a track having sleepers supported on a track ballast and rails secured to the sleepers, includes using a stabilizing unit which is connected to a machine frame that can be moved on the rails and has a vibration exciter and rollers that can roll on the rails. The vibration exciter generates in particular horizontal vibrations which run transversely to the track longitudinal direction. The course of a force exerted onto the track by the stabilizing unit is recorded over a vibration path during a vibration cycle by sensors. At least one parameter is derived from the course by an evaluation device and is used to evaluate the stabilizing procedure and/or the quality of the track ballast. A device for implementing the method is also provided.

Abstract
A method for compacting a ballast bed, on which railroad ties and track rails secured thereto are supported, uses a work assembly which is arranged on a track construction machine that can be moved on the track. During a compaction process, a signal is detected and a characteristic variable is derived therefrom by an analysis device in order to evaluate the quality of the ballast bed. The work assembly contains an electric drive, by which the compaction process is at least partly carried out. At least one operating variable of the electric drive is supplied to the analysis device, and a ballast bed characteristic variable is derived from the operating variable by the analysis device.

Abstract
A tamping unit for tamping sleepers of a track includes a tool carrier supported in a lowerable manner on an assembly frame, on which two pivot levers with tamping tools are mounted so as to be squeezable toward one another and, while being actuatable with a vibration, are rotatable about a respective rotation axis. A sensor for recording a pivot angle of a pivoting motion about the related rotation axis is associated with at least one pivot lever. The sensor has a multipart configuration with a first sensor part fastened to the tool carrier and a second sensor part fastened to the pivot lever. In this manner, sensitive sensor components in the first sensor part are subjected to lessened stress since the tool carrier merely performs a lowering or lifting motion during a tamping operation. A method for operating the tamping unit is also provided.
