A method and apparatus for securing a container, in particular a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) container to an aircraft consists of four tiedown adapters. The tiedown adapters are attached one each to a corner of the COTS container, typically at about the vertical midpoint of the edge. The tiedown adapters each comprises a base and a swivel. The base abuts the COTS container and has an integral cable fairlead. A cable is threaded through the fairleads so it wraps horizontally around the COTS container. The ends of the cable are then attached to each other using a turnbuckle, which is adjusted to put a predetermined tension in the cable. A shackle is attached to the swivel of each of the tiedown adapters and attached to an Adjustable Strap Assembly (ASA) or similar tiedown, which is attached to one of the load rings in the aircraft.

Abstract
Representative implementations of devices and techniques provide locking systems and/or retention mechanisms for an implement holster (such as a handgun holster, for example). Additionally, an implement holster having one or more locking systems and/or retention mechanisms is also described. Locking systems and retention mechanisms may be used individually with a holster or combined for multi-level security of the implement. The one or more locking systems can provide obstruction to the removal of the implement from the holster until intentionally unlocked by the user. Locking systems include hood locks, ejection port locks, and sight covers. Adjustable retention mechanisms can provide a desired retention of the implement while holstered, retaining the implement until a sufficient force is applied to remove the implement.

Protective body armor, namely, bullet, slash, and stab resistant body armor and protective clothing and customizable protective vests for body protection
A retention block, mounted within a handgun receiving, holster shell cavity automatically locks a handgun therein upon its insertion into the holster cavity. An access passage is formed through a first sidewall of the holster shell. The retention block is mounted inside the holster cavity, selectively moveable from the locked position to an unlocked position by a retention-block release lever that is oriented on the outer surface of the first sidewall of the holster shell and coupled to the retention block through the access passage. A retention-block biasing element is coupled to the retention block, for biasing the retention block into the locked position.
A magazine retention device includes an attachment pouch and an insert. The attachment pouch includes a front panel, a rear panel opposing the front panel, and an attachment portion. The front panel is secured to the rear panel forming a cavity between the front panel and the rear panel. The attachment portion is configured to attach to a carrier. The insert is disposed within the cavity and secured to the attachment pouch. The insert has an first region and a second region. The first region includes a rectangular opening configured to receive a magazine. The second region includes one or more walls that bias toward a center of the cavity. Here, the one or more walls bias in contact with a received magazine.

F16M 13/04 - Other supports for positioning apparatus or articles; Means for steadying hand-held apparatus or articles for supporting on, or holding steady relative to, a person, e.g. by chains
A holster shell is constructed with a horizontally oriented closed bottom wall, which along with opposing outward and inward facing sidewalls form a U-shaped cross section. A holster cavity is exposed along front and rear sides of the holster shell, through respective front and rear gaps that are defined between the sidewalls and the bottom wall. In some embodiments, the front gap of the holster cavity provides clearance for varying dimension, electro-optical or other sighting systems. In some embodiments, the rear gap of the holster cavity provides clearance for varying dimension laser sights and/or flashlight modules. Handgun retention features, such as trigger guard and/or ejection port conforming profiles, are defined within the holster shell. When a corresponding handgun is inserted within the holster cavity, the holster shell provides retention bias against the handgun.
A soft armor panel includes a first layer having a first outward facing surface and an opposite first inward facing surface. The soft armor panel also includes a second layer disposed adjacent to the first inward facing surface of the first layer, the second layer having a proximate end and a distal end. Structure and method for protecting a passenger during a crash
A method and apparatus for protecting a passenger during a crash comprises a moveable seat with an energy absorber (EA) that allows the seat to stroke a finite distance to decelerate the passenger in a controlled manner. The seat is designed so that one of a plurality of fixed profile EA's can be selectively engaged to provide a tailored EA composite profile adapted to the occupant's weight and anticipated crash environment. The tailored EA composite profile applies a frequency matched, low onset force to the seat, which substantially eliminates problems associated with dynamic overshoot of the passenger's spine.
