Abstract

A remote follow spot system includes a remote controller that has a body movable in pan and tilt directions, and an attached display. Movements of the body in the pan and tilt directions are translated into signals sent to a light to cause the light to move in the same directions as the body. The display receives a video feed from a camera mounted on the controlled light. The display hence shows the field of view where the light is pointing. In this way, an operator of the follow spot can control the light without physically being near the light.

Abstract

LED display modules for large-format displays are disclosed. The LED display module includes a matrix of LEDs, with each LED having an anode and a cathode, and an LED drive circuit having electrical connections defined by rows and columns that electrically connect to the LEDs in the LED matrix. Groups of adjacent rows are arranged in parallel and groups of adjacent columns are arranged in parallel, thereby defining super pixels each having an array of four or more LEDs, wherein the LEDs in a given super pixel cannot be individually activated. The modules can be combined to form the large-format display.

Abstract

Folding display panels for large-format displays. In an example, the folding display panels are electrically connected by a power cable and a data cable that respectively include a data wire and power wire, and each cable includes a fixed-length section attached at one end to a movable member. When folding adjacent display panels face-to-face, the movable member moves so that the fixed-length section remains taut. Slack in the data wire and power wire accommodate the movement of the corresponding fixed-length section. A column of display panels can be z-folded for compact storage and can be rapidly deployed to form a large-format display.

Abstract

Large-format display systems having color pixels and white pixels are disclosed. In an embodiment, the system includes a video camera, a video processor, and a large-format display that includes the color pixels and the white pixels. The video processor processes the video signal from the video camera, but the video processor does not perform a white-to-RGB conversion. Instead, the information for the white pixels is sent directly to the large-format display to form the color display image. A viewer's visual system performs the white-to-RGB conversion when viewing the color display image. A method of forming the color display image using color pixels and white pixels is also disclosed. Methods of performing color matching using the color pixels and white pixels are also disclosed.

Abstract

Various embodiments relate to an apparatus for controlling a lighting device. A light control circuit can use a controlled lighting sequence control and drive viewed sections of a lighting device to display chroma key color or emit infrared light, while driving other unviewed portions of the lighting device to display ambient and incident lighting. The viewed and unviewed lighting sections can be based on the field of vision of an image capture device and can change in relation to movements of the image capture device. A sensor can make measurements to determine the field of vision of the image capture device and can be used to generate or modify the controlled lighting sequence. An image processing circuit can generate a composite image using the chroma key while maintaining the subjects that are captured using ambient and incident lighting.

Abstract

A power supply assembly which can drive a number of different devices at different voltages. A rack holds a number of breaker modules, and each breaker module can connect to one or many breakout boxes. The breakout boxes are keyed to the breaker modules, so that the breaker boxes will not be energized with power unless they are the proper voltage and/or configuration to receive that power. The coil of a contactor in the breaker module is powered by a key wire that is connected through specified pins in the breakout box. Therefore, no power is ever provided to the breakout box unless it is of the proper voltage configuration. In addition, feeder power to the power supply assembly is provided over bolted connections, without any wire connections between the power feed and the circuit breaker.
