Abstract
The invention relates to a silica surface modification method which can be used, in particular, for the preparation of a silica grafted with hydrophobic chains R, in which: (A) a silica is treated in an aqueous medium with at least divalent metal cations that can bind to the surface thereof, typically type Al3+ aluminium cations; and subsequently (B) molecules of at least one phosphonic acid preferably having formula R-PO(-OH)2, wherein R is a hydrophobic chain, are added to the aqueous medium obtained in step A. The invention also relates to the hydrophobised silicas obtained using said method and to the uses thereof, for example as a filler in silicon matrices.
METHOD FOR PREPARING A GRAFTED COPOLYMER BY POLYUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS, COPOLYMER GRAFTED BY POLYUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS OBTAINABLE BY SAID METHOD AND USES THEREOF
The invention concerns a method for preparing a grafted copolymer by polyunsaturated fatty acids in aqueous phase. The invention also concerns a grafted copolymer by polyunsaturated fatty acids obtainable by said method and its uses as binder in coating compositions and in particular in decorative or industrial painting compositions, in adhesive compositions or in mineral binder compositions.
The invention relates to a high-bond strength silicon having a particle mean size equal to or greater than 100 νm, a porous volume (Vd1), formed by pores whose diameter ranges from 3.6 to 1000 nm, equal to or greater than 0.3 cm3/g, a mean pore diameter for the pores, whose diameter ranges from 3.6 to 1000 nm, greater than 11 nm and a bonding factor (IC) less than 0.25. A method for producing the inventive silicon, in particular consisting in carrying out a silicon wet granulation, in heat treating and possibly sieving it, the use of the silicon in the form of a liquid carrier, catalyst carrier, additive or for liquid or gaseous filtering are also disclosed.
This invention relates to water-soluble polysaccharide-based products that require less time and effort to incorporate into aqueous formulations, compared to existing polysaccharide products. This invention can be applied more particularly to cationic guar products to be used in cosmetic compositions. The product is in the form of granules and comprises a binding and/or dispersing agent and/or wetting agent.
The invention concerns a controlled architecture copolymer comprising at least one block A obtained by polymerizing a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers (A0) not including vinyl phosphonate monomers and at least one block B obtained by polymerizing a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers (B0) including at least 50 mole % of at least one monomer B1 bearing at least one vinyl phosphonate function. The invention also concerns a method for synthesizing a controlled architecture copolymer comprising at least one block A obtained by polymerizing a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers (A0) not including monomers with vinyl phosphonate monomers and at least one block B obtained by polymerizing a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers (B0) including at least 50 mole % of at least one monomer B1 bearing at least one vinyl phosphonate function. The invention further concerns the use of the copolymer as anti-scaling agent, as dispersant, as emulsifier or surface modifier.

COMPOSITION COMPRISING A THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER AND A HYDROPHILIZING AGENT
The invention concerns a method for preparing thermoplastics to obtain a hydrophilic behaviour of the surface of objects made from said thermoplastics. The invention also concerns the additives used to obtain said surface hydrophily, said additives being mixed and jointly melted with the thermoplastics (mass-additivation process). The melted mixtures of thermoplastics and additives are shaped by any conventional means (extrusion, injection, film stretching) to obtain the desired objects. The invention further concerns the uses of said thermoplastic objects with hydrophilized surfaces.
