Abstract

A vehicle includes first and second drive units, such as drive units that each include an electric motor and a gear train coupling the electric motor to one or more wheels. A first drive unit may be idled while the second drive unit continues to induce movement of the vehicle. Losses within the first drive unit while idled may be reduced by heating the first drive unit, such as with heat generated by the second drive unit. A cooling system is present and may be used to heat the first drive unit by directing fluid exiting the second drive unit into the first drive unit before entering the cooling system or bypassing the cooling system entirely. Oil circulation within the first drive unit may facilitate heating of the gear train by bypassing a heat exchanger receiving the oil and the fluid.

Abstract

Systems and methods are presented herein for generating a three-dimensional model based on data from one or more two-dimensional images to identify a traversable space for a vehicle and objects surrounding the vehicle. A bounding area is generated around an object identified in a two-dimensional image captured by one or more sensors of a vehicle. Semantic segmentation of the two-dimensional image is performed based on the bounding area to differentiate between the object and a traversable space. The three-dimensional model of an environment comprised of the object and the traversable space is generated based on the semantic segmentation. The three-dimensional model is used for one or more of processing or transmitting instructions useable by one or more driver assistance features of the vehicle.

Abstract

A power stage circuit with multiple bidirectional AC to DC circuits for bidirectional charging is modified to connect the power stage converters in series for DC to AC applications. The power stage circuit can covert a DC input from a DC power source of a vehicle to an AC output for a power outlet of the vehicle. The power stage circuit uses two lines with a 120 VAC at the power outlet. Using a common neutral line, the AC to DC circuits are connected together to form a split phase power output, and the 120 VAC lines are 180 degrees out of phase to create a 240 VAC source at the power outlet.

Abstract

Systems and methods are presented herein for generating energy consumption predictions for a vehicle, providing feedback on how to improve a rate of energy consumption of the vehicle, and generating recommendations (e.g., coaching) for improving an efficiency of energy consumption as a vehicle traverses a route (e.g., an off-road course). One or more of a rate of energy consumption of a vehicle or an amount of energy to be consumed by a vehicle arranged to traverse a route is predicted. Then one or more recommendations are provided to improve an efficiency of energy consumed by the vehicle while traversing the route. In response to determining the vehicle has completed the route, at least one recommendation is generated for improving an efficiency of energy consumption for a subsequent trip along the route.

Abstract

A power stage circuit for AC to DC and DC to AC applications includes an AC to DC circuit having multiple totem pole circuits. Two totem pole circuits are designed for 120 VAC and may include inductors with the same inductance values. An additional totem pole circuit is a neutral line and includes an inductor with a different (e.g., lower) inductance value. By choosing inductors with the same inductance values, the 120-VAC sources can be decoupled and separately controlled (e.g., subtracted from each other on one circuit and added together on another circuit) to provide split phase AC power for a power outlet in DC to AC applications.
