Abstract

The invention relates to an impedance-matching method (P) for matching a load (5) located at the end of a radiofrequency application chain by way of an impedance-matching network (4) having two degrees of freedom placed upstream of the load. The method is in particular implemented by way of a radiofrequency discriminator (1) positioned upstream of the impedance-matching network and at the output of a radiofrequency generator (2) generating an electromagnetic wave. The method is noteworthy in that the radiofrequency discriminator remains positioned at the same position, that is to say a fixed position (p0), and carries out two impedance measurements (Z1, Z2) on the load at two distinct distances of interest (d1, d2) such that these make it possible to decouple the two degrees of freedom of the impedance-matching network purely digitally, so as then to be able to control them independently of one other and carry out the impedance matching.

The elementary device includes a coaxial applicator of microwave power that includes a conductive central core, a conductive external shield surrounding the central core, a medium located between the central core and the shield to propagate microwave energy, and an insulating body. Abstract

The device for electromagnetic radiation treatment of a reactive medium includes an electromagnetic radiation generator, a reactor containing the reactive medium, and a device for transmitting the electromagnetic radiation generated by the generator to the reactive medium contained in the reactor. Abstract

The invention relates to a device for electromagnetic radiation treatment of a reactive medium, including an electromagnetic radiation generator (1), a reactor (2) containing said reactive medium, and a device (3) for transmitting the electromagnetic radiation generated by the generator (1) to the reactive medium contained in said reactor (2), where said device (3) includes a wave guide (4) intended to transmit the electromagnetic radiation from the generator (1) and a coupling means (5) arranged so as to allow transfer within the reactive medium of the electromagnetic energy transmitted by the wave guide (4). The invention is characterized in that: the wave guide (4) includes a curved segment (40), specifically in a general U shape, which forms a return loop from said wave guide (4); and in that the device includes a separation wall (92) that isolates the generator (1) from the reactor (2), with said reactor (2) being connected to the curved segment (40) of the wave guide (4) and where said curved segment (40) extends at least partially from one side (90) of the separation wall (92) opposite said generator (1). The present invention is suitable for use in the sector involving devices used for the thermal treatment of a reactive medium, specifically by microwave radiation.
