An image capturing apparatus has a scanning unit to capture an image of an object to be scanned, a detection unit to detect an area of the object to be scanned selected by a user, and a storage unit to store a scanned image including only the selected area of the object to be scanned. The detection unit determines the selected area by detecting a position of a physical pointing object relative to the object to be scanned when the physical pointing object is between the object to be scanned and the scanning unit.
A display apparatus (1) has an integrated scanning unit 20 to scan a document placed on a scanning area. The scanning unit (20) has an image sensor (30) to capture an image of the document, and the image sensor faces the scanning area. A display unit (10) of the display apparatus displays the captured image. The display apparatus (1) also has a support (50) which supports the display unit (10) above the scanning area.
An image capturing device 100 has an image sensor 200 for digitally capturing images and a shutter button 300 for receiving a user input indicative of a user wanting to capture an image. The image capturing device 100 also has a trigger detection unit 400 to detect a trigger condition based on a predetermined movement of the device 100 which is indicative of a user preparing to take a photograph prior to the user input being received by the shutter button 300. As such, the image sensor 200 captures a first image in response to the trigger condition, and a second image subsequent to the first image in response to the shutter button 300 receiving the user input.
