Embodiments of the invention provide an exhaust insulation system structured for effectively insulating an exhaust system of an automobile. In some embodiments, the exhaust insulation system comprises a pipe joint insulation component structured for insulating a pipe joint of an exhaust system. In some embodiments, the exhaust insulation system comprises a hanger pipe insulation component structured for insulating an exhaust system pipe at a portion of the pipe proximate a hanger pipe assembled onto the pipe. In some embodiments, the exhaust insulation system comprises a bellows insulation component structured for insulating one or more bellows of the exhaust system.
Embodiments of the present invention provide a self-molding composite system for insulation and covering operations. The self-molding composite system may be cured to form any desired shaped for insulation and covering operations. The composite system comprises one or more layers that may create a rigid layered composite when cured. The one or more layers of the composite system may include a base layer that is a braided, knit, or non-woven fiber based substrate, an interstitial matrix layer, and customizable top coat. The customizable top coat may be a solvent based polymer solution that includes various additives that may include color pigments, additives for additional abrasion protection, additives for thermal protection, and/or additives for creating various textures or visible appearances to the composite system.

Embodiments of the invention provide a novel band clamp insulation system for ensuring a tight insulation around a pipe during extended operation of the system and mitigating adverse effects of differential thermal expansion. The band clamp insulation system typically comprises a band clamp for securing insulation around the pipe and a securing member fixed to the pipe. The band clamp insulation system further comprises a coupling member for fastening the band clamp and the coupling member together.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a self-molding composite system for insulation and covering operations. The self-molding composite system may be cured to form any desired shaped for insulation and covering operations. The composite system comprises one or more layers that may create a rigid layered composite when cured. The one or more layers of the composite system may include at least one structural reinforcement layer that is a braided, knit, or non-woven fiber based substrate, an interstitial matrix layer, and customizable top coat. The customizable top coat may be a solvent based polymer solution that includes various additives that may include color pigments, additives for additional abrasion protection, additives for thermal protection, and/or additives for creating various textures or visible appearances to the composite system.

Embodiments of the invention provide a corrugated band clamp configured to effectively secure a sleeve around a pipe. The corrugated band clamp comprises an elongate member having a first lateral side and an opposing second lateral side. Typically, at least a portion of the length of the elongate member comprises a corrugated portion and at least a portion of the length of the elongate member comprises a non-corrugated portion. The corrugated portion of the elongate member enables the corrugated band clamp to effectively secure sleeves on pipes with non-parallel surfaces. In addition, embodiments of the invention provide applications of the corrugated band clamp system, methods of manufacture and methods of use.
