Abstract
The present disclosure features processes and equipment for manufacturing materials (10) that have a textured surface formed by applying a first texture (16) to a curable coating, curing the coating, and then embossing a second, different texture (18) over the first texture (16). The disclosure also features textured materials, including both release webs (10) for use in replicative casting processes and finished products in sheet, board, plate or web form.
Methods are provided for manufacturing electronic devices such as transistors, solar arrays, optical display arrays, portions of such devices and arrays, and the like. The methods involve providing a substrate having a surface with a pattern of raised portions and recessed portions, adding a conductive material to the surface of the substrate, and manipulating the surface of the substrate to provide the conductive material only in the recessed portions.
H05K 3/10 - Apparatus or processes for manufacturing printed circuits in which conductive material is applied to the insulating support in such a manner as to form the desired conductive pattern
Methods for imparting a texture to a cured powder coated surface are provided. These methods involve heating the cured powder coating to a temperature greater than its glass transition point (Tg), then imparting a texture to the cured powder coating under pressure using a release medium having a replicative surface. After the texture is imparted to the cured powder coating, the release medium can be removed. Examples of suitable release media include, for example, engraved plates, engraved rolls, release papers, release films, and release webs.

Compositions including various combinations of a starch, a plasticizer for the starch, a crystalline or crystallizable material, and an amphiphilic material for use as binders for coatings for paper and other surfaces are presented. Examples of such compositions include combinations of a starch and a crystalline or crystalizable material; a starch, a crystalline or crystalizable material, and a plasticizer; a starch, a plasticizer, a crystalline or crystalizable material, and an amphiphilic material; a starch, a crystalline or crystalizable material, and an amphiphilic material; a starch and an amphiphilic material. Also described are printable surfaces including a base material with the compositions for use as binder coatings described herein included within or coated on the base material. Further described are methods of making paper that include providing a base material and applying a composition for use as a binder coating as described herein onto the base material.
Methods are disclosed for manufacturing electronic devices (e.g., transistors, and etc.), solar arrays, optical display arrays, portions of such devices and arrays, and the like. The method involves preparing substrate pre-forms comprising a pattern of raised and recessed areas. Utilizing a scrape coating and/or a tip printing process, various electronic and solar arrays are manufactured.

COATING FORMULATION FOR OFFSET PAPER AND PAPER COATED THEREWITH
Coated paper for offset printing comprising at least on one side a top coating layer with improved ink scuff behaviour, said top coating layer comprising a pigment part, the 100 parts in dry weight thereof comprising in the range of 2 - 40 parts in dry weight of a fine particulate, preferably organosilane surface-treated Phyllosilicate pigment like (as pure as possible) Talcum, a binder part of 2 - 20 parts in dry weight of binder and optionally additives in the range of 0 - 8 parts in dry weight.
The present disclosure features processes and equipment for forming a variety of textured materials, including both release webs, and finished products such as flooring materials, wall coverings, textured laminates and the like. The processes described herein allow curing radiation to be passed through a texturing medium, rather than through the substrate to which the curable material is applied.

Methods are provided for manufacturing sheet-form products which carry an embossed texture and a printed pattern in register with the embossed texture. One method includes (a) providing a sheet-form substrate having a surface; (b) providing an embossing medium carrying an embossed pattern defining raised portions and recessed portions; (c) applying an ink to the raised portions of the embossed pattern; (d) transferring the ink from the embossing medium to the surface of the substrate, and (e) applying pressure to the embossing medium and substrate to impart the inverse of the embossed pattern to the surface of the substrate to form the sheet-form product. Sheet-form products are also provided.
