A parallel opening hinge includes a pair of parallel hinges, each parallel hinge having a moveable pivot within a track of the parallel opening hinge, wherein a connector joins the two movable pivots in the track such that the movable pivots move together.

Abstract

A slider for use in a track having an end stop therein, the slider having a detent therein and including a releasable restrictor having a rib thereon, wherein the releasable restrictor can be held in an active position by an interaction between the rib and the detent, or an inactive position, and wherein the releasable restrictor is automatically reset in its active position when the slider reaches the end stop in the track. More controlled closing of a window sash is thereby possible.

Abstract

A parallel opening hinge (1) comprises a first track (3), a second track (5) and at least two pairs of pivotally connected crossing links (7, 9), wherein each pair of crossing links (7, 9) is mounted to the tracks (3, 5) via a fixed pivot (13, 17) and a movable pivot (15, 19) in each track (3, 5), wherein a connector (23) joins two movable pivots (15) in a track (5) such that the movable pivots (15) move together. Improved opening of a parallel opening vent can thereby result. Other improved features of a parallel opening hinge are also described.
