Abstract

The invention concerns a machine for cutting rails such as rails of a railway track, comprising a rotary cutting disk (3) for cutting the rails (5), a motor (1) for rotating the disk, a device allowing the operator to move the disk in a plane perpendicular to the rails to be cut, and a support for attaching the machine to the rail to be cut. The machine is characterised in that the motor (1) is capable of being fixedly attached to the support (16) and in that the device for moving the disk (3) is produced in the form of a device with hinged arms (7) that is linked by one end to the motor (1) and carries the cutting disk (3) at the other end of same, and is provided with means for transmitting the torque from the output shaft (24) of the motor to the cutting disk (3). The invention can be used for cutting rails of a railway track.

Abstract

A system for loading, transporting and unloading railway track components, such as rails, railway track apparatuses and parts of such apparatuses, comprising at least one transport wagon equipped with a plurality of jib cranes for lifting and shifting wood components on at least one side of the track, and means for storing the track components on the wagon. The wagon (2) comprises a plurality of lift tables (10) for storing railway track (8) components, that are distributed along the length of the wagon and can be moved vertically between a low position underneath the jib cranes (20) and a high position above the jib cranes, and each jib crane (20) comprises a horizontal arm (22) that can be moved between an idle position along the axis of the wagon and a position perpendicular to said axis and a carriage for taking hold of the track (8) components that can be moved along the arm (22) between a position for taking hold of a track component on the lift tables (10) and a position for fitting and removing a track element, on the left-hand side or right-hand side of the railway track (8).

Abstract

The invention concerns a train for loading, transporting and unloading long welded rails, comprising a plurality of wagons (2) for storing and transporting the welded rails, movable on a track, and an engine (50) provided with two devices (27) for gripping rails that is movable on the train in the longitudinal direction of the wagons, in order to provide traction and to place the rails on said wagons. The train is characterised in that the movable engine (50) can be moved along a rail device (9) disposed on top of the platform (7) of the wagons (2). The invention can be used for loading, transporting and unloading long welded rails.

Abstract

A method for extending a railway track downstream from an existing track end includes transporting a common track panel; positioning the common track panel downstream from the existing track, deploying an off-track moving mechanism and positioning an upstream end of the common panel vertically, in line with the existing track end; releasing the common track panel, removing the off-track moving mechanism; and installing the common track panel, by lowering the common track panel until the upstream end of the common track panel is aligned with the existing track end.

Abstract

The invention relates to an automated machine for grinding track welds on a rail head (13), which comprises a portable main chassis (9) arranged so as to be placed on the track and provided with mountings (10) that describe an arc of circle which covers the head (13) perpendicular to the track, a beam (12) supported by the chassis (9) such as to rotate about the head (13) by means of mountings (10) and moving closer to or further from the centre of the arc of circle to take reference from the rail head (13) and copy the profile of the head (13) during the rotation of the beam (12), and a grinding head (23) supported by the beam (12) such as to be able to move in a first direction perpendicular to the beam (12) in order to move a grinder (32) mounted on one end of the grinder head (23) closer to or further from the centre of the arc of circle, and in a second direction parallel to the beam (12) in order to perform a sweeping movement of the grinder (32).

Abstract

Disclosed is a method for extending a railway track downstream from an existing track end (36), said method comprising a step (101) of transporting a common track panel; a step (103) of positioning the common panel downstream from the existing track, in which an operator deploys an off-track moving mechanism in order to position an upstream end of the common panel vertically in line with the existing track end; a step (105) of releasing the common panel, in which the operator retracts the off-track moving mechanism; and a step (107) of installing the common panel, in which the operator lowers the common panel until the upstream end of the common panel is aligned with the existing track end.
