Apparatus and method for producing and dispensing a reaction mixture
Apparatuses for producing and dispensing a reaction mixture include a mixing head for mixing the reaction components that are fed via two supply lines. The apparatuses also include a decompression system to relieve pressure from the supply lines to avoid the reaction components seeping into the mixing head. The decompression system includes two pressure vessels each with two sides, separated by a membrane. One of these sides forms an expansion chamber for the reaction component while the other side is connected to a pneumatic system. With this pneumatic system, the expansion chamber can be pressurized before the production of the reaction mixture is started. After the production of the reaction mixture, the pressure can be relieved.
Dispensing system for dispensing a mixture of a first component and a second component, the dispensing system comprising: (i) a dispensing gun comprising an inlet body with a first passage for feeding in the first component under pressure and a second passage for feeding in the second component under pressure, the first and second passages respectively comprising a closable first outlet and a closable second outlet, which may be operable by means of a handle or trigger of the dispensing gun; (ii) a static mixing nozzle, detachably connectable to the outlets of the body and provided for mixing and dispensing the components, the static mixing nozzle comprising a first section containing a first chamber and a second chamber for conducting the first and second component respectively and a second section, subsequent to the first section (in forwards flow direction), containing a mixing chamber with static mixing elements which promote mixing the first and second components and conducting the mixture to a nozzle tip serving as an outlet for the mixture. According to the invention, at least one of the first and second chambers of the static mixing nozzle contains a series of static backflow prevention elements, arranged for hindering backflow of the respective component within the respective chamber.

The apparatus comprises a mixing head (5) for mixing the reaction components that are fed via two supply lines (7, 8) to the mixing head (5) under the pressure which prevails in the containers (1, 2). The apparatus comprises a decompression system to relieve the pressure from the supply lines (7, 8) to avoid the reaction components seeping into the mixing head (5). The decompression system comprises two pressure vessels (13, 17) each with two sides, separated by a membrane (27). One of these sides forms an expansion chamber (25, 26) for the reaction component while the other side (29, 30) is connected to a pneumatic system (31, 33, 44, 45, 46). With this pneumatic system, the expansion chamber (25, 26) can be pressurized before the production of the reaction mixture is started. After the production of the reaction mixture, the pressure can be relieved again from the expansion chamber (25, 26) and thus from the supply line (7, 8). Such a decompression system is simple and easy to maintain. The pressure vessels (13, 17) are furthermore detachable, as a result of which they can be easily replaced during maintenance.

B65D 83/14 - Containers for dispensing liquid or semi-liquid contents by internal gaseous pressure, i.e. aerosol containers comprising propellant
A dual purpose coupling piece is provided for on the one hand the screw coupling of a disposable pressure container with a dispensing gun, and which further comprises means for on the other hand also cooperating in a bayonet-type coupling with a suitable handheld applicator for application of the compound as in the handheld use. A suitable handheld applicator is also provided. The coupling piece and/or the handheld applicator may be designed for production as one single product using injection moulding. Further provided is an assembly of a container with the coupling piece, and a process for producing the coupling piece and the assembly, as well as the handheld applicator.

This invention relates to a method for producing a one component foam forming composition which contains at least one organic prepolymer composition for producing a fire retardant foam upon extrusion of the foam forming composition from a pressurized container, wherein the prepolymer composition and an amount of expandable graphite are supplied to the container, after which the container is sealed and pressurized by injection of at least part of the pressurized propellant into the closed container and the contents of the container are subjected to motion to cause mixing of the prepolymer, the expandable graphite and the propellant.
