Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of polyol components suitable for forming polyurethane foam, in particular two component polyurethane foam the resulting foams and methods for their production. The present inventors found gaseous hydrohaloolefin containing polyol components possessing improved shelf-life properties, in particular polyol components comprising a gaseous hydrohaloolefin blowing agent, a nitrogen catalyst and a tin catalyst, wherein the tin catalyst comprises a sulfur atom. The present inventors also found that the shelf- life is further improved if the nitrogen catalyst is at least partially protonated by reaction with an acid, such as an organic acid.

A PU foam forming composition, dispensed from a single pressurized container and comprising at least 5 %wt of a propellant, may be used for filling the gap between the window frame and the outer perimeter of the glass unit of the window assembly. The PU foam filling is preferably an OCF PU foam and may bring significant improvements to the window assembly, in particular in combination with multiple glazing and/or HR+ glazing, such as improved thermal and acoustic performance, improved air tightness, increased fire resistance, rigidity and burglar resistance. This invention relates to a method for producing a one component foam forming composition which contains at least one organic prepolymer composition for producing a fire retardant foam upon extrusion of the foam forming composition from a pressurized container, wherein the prepolymer composition and an amount of expandable graphite are supplied to the container, after which the container is sealed and pressurized by injection of at least part of the pressurized propellant into the closed container and the contents of the container are subjected to motion to cause mixing of the prepolymer, the expandable graphite and the propellant.
