PREPARATION SYSTEM FOR EXTRACTING A PRODUCT CONTAINED IN A CAPSULE
The preparation system has a capsule 11 which is provided with a conical side wall 13, a first end 13a of which has a larger outer diameter than the second end 13b. The capsule 11 is provided at the first end 13a with an outwardly projecting flange 15 to which a foil 19 is attached which foil closes the capsule. The preparation device 1 has a pressure cylinder 3 which is slid over the capsule 11 and presses the flange 15 against a counter plate 5. The pressure cylinder has to be liquid-tight in contact with the capsule. The outer diameter of the first end 13a of the side wall 13 of the capsule being larger than the inner diameter of the pressure cylinder 3. Of an assembly of two capsules, each capsule (71) has a cup (73) of an oxygen-impermeable material, is open on one side and is provided with an outwardly projecting flange (77). This open side is closed by a foil (79) which is attached to the flange over the entire circumference. An airtight sealing ring (70) is provided over the entire circumference of the flanges against the circumferential edges (77a) of the flanges by means of injection molding. This sealing ring seals the space between the two flanges in an airtight manner, so that the space in the capsule does not come into contact with the outside environment, even if the foil would have been damaged during attachment on the flange. In that case the space is closed by the foil and/or the cup of the other capsule and the extract present in the capsule remains its flavor and taste.

A container containing a product to be extracted, more particularly coffee grounds or cut tea leaves, comprises a plurality of walls of which at least one wall portion (6) comprises at least two layers of which a first layer (7) is provided with a multitude of holes (10) and the second layer (8) is liquid impermeable. The first, perforated layer is located on the outside of the container and is made of a fabric that has a modulus of elasticity of more than 1500 N/mm2. The second layer is more elastic than the first layer and is made of a fabric that has a modulus of elasticity of less than 1000 N/mm2. During the preparation of an extract, liquid is fed under pressure to the container. The second, more leastic layer will be pressed through the holes in the first layer under pressure of the liquid and form bulges on the outside of the first layer, which bulges will tear or break open at a certain pressure.
A container 1 containing ground coffee 5 is provided with a side wall 7 and two end walls 9 and 11 which are made of sheets of filtering material. A rigid plastic foil 13, 15 made of biologically degradable material is sealed to the two end walls. The invention relates to a container for preparing an extract of a product, such as coffee. The container consists of a body in the shape of a truncated cone having a base and a top surface, which base is provided with a projecting edge and a closure body and which closure body is detachably mounted on said body, being provided with perforations and with a filter element made of a gauze. The closure body is further provided with an upright edge which in a closed position is slid into the body, whilst the upright edge is provided with an annular protrusion and the body is provided with an annular recess.
