The present invention provides a balancing capacity provision technology for a plurality of electric vehicles 10 serving as distributed energy resources DER in a virtual power plant VPP in which a change occurs in combination with a charger 14 for providing balancing capacity by charging a battery 11 of each electric vehicle from the charger or discharging through the charger. First, the balancing capacity that can be provided from each electric vehicle 10 is calculated according to the combination of the charger and the electric vehicle on the basis of minimum values of the charge capacity or discharge acceptance capacity and the discharge capacity of the charger 14 and the charge acceptance capacity or discharge capacity of the electric vehicle 10. Then, the balancing capacity that can be provided is determined in consideration of the application of the vehicle in addition to the current or future vehicle use state or vehicle state. Thus, it is possible to provide appropriate balancing capacity when chargers having different charge capacity, discharge acceptance capacity, and/or discharge capacity and a plurality of electric vehicles having different battery capacity, remaining battery capacity, charge acceptance capacity, and/or discharge capacity are mixed or when the combination with the charger is changed in accordance with the movement. Furthermore, appropriate charge timing and bidding timing can be determined for each electric vehicle.

Abstract

Disclosed is a hybrid thermal power generation system using crude oil, provided with combined cycle power generation systems (6) wherein naphtha and light oil, which have been separated by only an atmospheric distillation tower (3), are respectively supplied to different gas turbines, to generate electric power, and steam generated by exhaust heat is used to generate electric power; and a conventional power generation system (7) wherein heavy oil separated by only the atmospheric distillation tower (3) is burned to generate electric power. Thus, both systems can be used without remarkably eroding the operation efficiency, and accordingly, the thermal efficiency in the entire system can be improved. Furthermore, excess fuel of the combined cycle power generation system (6) is supplied to a boiler (12) of the conventional power generation system (7), so that the thermal efficiency in the entire system can be further improved.

Disclosed is a butanol production process comprising a step of allowing a microorganism belonging to the genus Clostridium, which is a microorganism capable of producing butanol, to produce butanol in an environment (a medium) containing a sugar that can be utilized by a Clostridium microorganism and lactic acid and/or acetic acid as substrates. The process enables the increase in the concentration of butanol produced in a culture medium (solution) and also enables the increase in the butanol production rate. In the process, a mixture of a D-form and an L-form which is produced through lactic acid fermentation or an acetic-acid-containing fermentation product which is a by-product of lactic acid fermentation can be utilized. By combining the process with lactic acid fermentation, it becomes possible to construct a system for producing butanol from a non-food biomass, which does not need any expensive enzyme or any high-level technique such as genetic engineering and is therefore practically useful.

This invention provides a carbon nanotube composite manufactured by compositing a carbon nanotube with a metal without heating, and a method for manufacturing the same. The carbon nanotube composite is manufactured by monoaxially pressing a powder mixture of a metallic powder with a carbon nanotube using first and second molds and allowing a strain stress to act on the powder mixture being pressed in a nonheated state, that is, without externally applying heat to the powder mixture to integrally bind the metallic powder and the carbon nanotube to each other. In this case, before the application of a strain stress to the powder mixture, the powder mixture is maintained in such a state that the powder mixture is pressed at a predetermined pressure or higher for a predetermined period of time, thereby eliminating air present in the powder mixture. The strain stress which acts on the powder mixture is smaller than the threshold strain stress by which the cylindrical shape of the carbon nanotube is broken.
