Leaking of high-temperature gas inside a furnace to the outside of the furnace via a furnace body opening portion and entry of normal-temperature air outside the furnace into the furnace via the furnace body opening portion are effectively prevented. A central vent that forms an airflow curtain in a target object passage region of a furnace body opening portion and left and right side vents that form airflow curtains respectively in gap regions between the target object passage region and left and right side walls of the furnace body opening portion are provided as vents for forming airflow curtains, an airflow fa for forming an airflow curtain blows from the central vent toward the inner side of the furnace diagonally downward at an inclination angle that is smaller than 40° relative to a horizontal direction, and airflows for forming airflow curtains blow from the left and right side vents vertically downward or toward the inner side of the furnace diagonally downward at an inclination angle that is larger than 60° relative to the horizontal direction.
A patch applicator arrangement (100) for securing a patch (102) over a hole (104a, 104b, 104c) in a vehicle part (106). The arrangement (100) provides a robotic arm having at least one movable joint that allows the robotic arm (108) to move about several axes. At the end of the robotic arm (108) is a spindle (118) that has several spring loaded patch applicators (128a, 128b, 128c, 128d) connected. The arrangement (100) also includes a patch dispensing apparatus (202) that the arrangements uses along with the robotic arm (108) to place patches (102) over holes (104a, 104b, 104c) in a vehicle part (106). The arrangement (100) also provides a verification method to make sure the holes (104a, 104b, 104c) have been properly covered.

ELECTROSTATIC COATING METHOD USING DIRECT CHARGING-TYPE SOLVENT-BASED PAINT AND ELECTROSTATIC COATING DEVICE
In order to improve the coating efficiency of a solvent-based paint on an object to be coated, this electrostatic coating method includes: a step in which a solvent-based paint t is supplied along a paint path 6 to a paint spray unit 4; a step in which a high voltage is applied to the solvent-based paint t as a result of direct contact with a high-voltage electrode 5; and a step in which the solvent-based paint t is sprayed from the paint spray unit 4 in a state in which a high voltage is applied to the solvent-based paint t by the high-voltage electrode 5. The electrostatic coating method comprises: a step in which, by using a solvent-based paint t having an electric resistance set to lower than a setting threshold value, the amount of charge in paint particles in the solvent-based paint t at the point when direct contact between the paint particles and the high-voltage electrode 5 is broken is increased; and a step in which the amount of charge in the paint particles is further increased by causing ions released from the high-voltage electrode 5 to collide into the flying paint particles.
