An imaging element includes: a photodiode, a first FD, a second FD, a TRG transistor, an amplification transistor, a DGC transistor for switching a conversion gain, when converting charges into a pixel signal, to a high gain or a low gain, a capacitor, an OFG transistor for transferring charges overflowing from the photodiode to the second FD, and an RST transistor. During an imaging action involving a long exposure time, after reset is carried out, with the conversion gain being switched to the high gain, the pixel signal is read and employed as a high-gain reset signal. Then, after the TRG transistor is conducted, the pixel signal is read and employed as a high-gain signal. A first signal which is a difference between the high-gain signal and the high-gain reset signal is outputted.

A method and system for transmitting and receiving an audio signal over a video signal in a single cable. The method and system including receiving an analog video signal, the analog video signal comprising one or more rows of video data, an audio header, and one or more quantized audio data. The method includes detecting, the audio header in a blank interval of the analog video and determining a reference level of the audio header. The method and system include extracting, in response to detecting the audio header, the one or more quantized audio data and converting the one or more quantized audio data to an original value of audio data based on the reference level of the audio header. The method and system are configured for storing the one or more quantized audio data in the original value in a First-in-First-Out (FIFO) buffer, and reconstructing, utilizing the FIFO buffer, a continuous audio signal from the one or more quantized audio data in the original value.
H04N 7/04 - Systems for the transmission of one television signal, i.e. both picture and sound, by a single carrier
H04N 7/06 - Systems for the simultaneous transmission of one television signal, i.e. both picture and sound, by more than one carrier
H04N 7/083 - Systems for the simultaneous or sequential transmission of more than one television signal, e.g. additional information signals, the signals occupying wholly or partially the same frequency band with signal insertion during the vertical and the horizontal blanking interval
The present invention is provided with: a comparison unit 31 which compares a first reference signal and a second reference signal with a pixel signal including a reset component and a signal component; an up counter 34 which up-counts a counter clock; and a black level correction unit 35 which corrects a black level of a count value of the up counter 34, wherein the up counter 34 starts an up-count when the comparison unit 31 compares the first reference signal with the reset component to invert an output, and stops the up-count when the comparison unit 31 compares the second reference signal with the signal component to invert the output. An image-captured data, in which the black level is corrected and the reset component is removed from the signal component, is output by subtracting, from a count value counted by the up counter 34, a value counted by the up counter 34 for a pixel signal from a shielded pixel.
A method and an apparatus for improving digital video signal transmission over a long transmission line are disclosed. A simple equalization reference signal is generated and then combined with a digital video signal in the digital domain such that the transmission of the reference signal takes place at a predefined time period during the vertical blanking interval of the video signal. The combined signal is then converted into an analog video transport signal, which analog signal is then transmitted over the long transmission line to a downstream video receiver. The equalization reference signal is extracted and used at the video receiver to restore the analog video signal which in turn is converted back to digital video signal.
