Abstract

A touch probe for a coordinate measuring machine with a processor which is programmed to generate a trigger signal signalling a contact between a stylus of the probe and a workpiece, whenever one of a plurality displacement signals exceeds a corresponding threshold. In addition, or in alternative, a delayed trigger is generated based on a processing a plurality of samples of displacement signals that are stored in a buffer. The processor is programmed to minimize anisotropy of the probe response. Furthermore, the thresholds can be modified during operations based on commands received from the CMM controller.

Optical sensors are adapted for distance measurement by emission and capture of measuring radiation reflected from an object to be measured. The optical sensors can be used with measuring devices, including coordinate measuring machines. The optical sensors have an optomechanical coupling unit, configured for automated coupling of the optical sensor to the measuring device and for bidirectional measuring radiation transmission between measuring device and optical sensor. The optical sensors have a first optical measuring channel, by which bidirectional measuring radiation transmission is provided between the measuring device and a first exit window of the optical sensor. The optical sensors have a second optical measuring channel, by which bidirectional measuring radiation transmission is provided between the measuring device and a second exit window of the optical sensor, and a switch for controlled variation of the measuring radiation transmission between at least the first or the second optical measuring channel.

Abstract

Method for supporting an operator in measuring a part of an object, comprising the steps of equipping the operator with an electronic device and with a dimension measuring apparatus. The device comprises a see-though head mounted display, a camera, and a digital processor. An image of the object is captured with the camera so that the processor recognizes or identifies the part of the object in the image. The method further comprises the steps of obtaining a model of said part and displaying on the display an indication of the dimension that is intended to be measured. A value of the dimension measured by the dimension measuring apparatus is acquired in the processor that will process it according to the model.
