Abstract

A device (1) is used for introducing a running material web (3) into a tenter machine. The device (1) comprises at least one tiltable cheek (12) which receives the material web (3). This cheek (12) is tilted by at least one control element (13) by means of at least one actuator (19). This control element (13) engages on the one hand on the cheek (12) and on the other hand on the frame (17). Angle sensors (32) record the angle between the cheek (12) and the control element (13) as well as between the frame (17) and the control element (13). These angles are delivered to calculation means (66′) for calculating the difference of the two recorded angles.

Abstract

A device and a method for monitoring and/or inspecting moving material webs. The method includes taking a first picture of a first portion of a material web at a first point in time with a camera, which has a matrix chip with a binning function, and taking a second picture of a second portion of the material web at a second point in time with the camera. A first binning step level is used for the first picture and a second binning step level is used for the second picture. The apparatus has a guiding device through which the material web is guided and a camera including a field of view and configured to record an image of the front side within the field of view. An incident light transmitter is configured to illuminate the front side with incident light, and a background panel is arranged on the rear side of the material web within the field of view. The background panel includes a diffuser plate, a light guide plate, a reflecting surface, and a light source configured to couple light into the light guide plate which is configured to uncouple the light to illuminate the rear side of the material web with transmitted light.

Abstract

The invention relates to a force sensor (10) for measuring a bearing force (3) of a roller deviating a web of material. Said force sensor (10) comprises a base element (20) on which at least one sensor element (25) is supported. The sensor element (25) comprises at least one plate (40) which can be elastically deformed by the bearing force (3) and is provided with at least one force transducer (42). The sensor element (25) is loaded by a pressure piece (29) into which the bearing force (3) is introduced by means of a spring (32). Said spring comprises a larger range of spring - in the direction of the force - than the elastically deformable plate (4) for the same load. Abstract

The present disclosure relates an apparatus for controlling the lateral offset of webs of material. The apparatus can include a support structure for supporting a roll and a mechanism for lifting the web of material off the roll. The support structure can include a fixed portion and at least one movable portion. The roll is preferably journaled to first mountings, the first mountings being attached to the movable portion of the support structure, so that the roll can be moved together with the first mountings. A potential advantage of this design is that the journal bearing of the roll on a respective shaft can be configured more easily and given smaller dimensions. According to a further aspect of the disclosure, the lifting mechanism can include at least two single rollers, rotatably journaled to two lateral supports. Such single rollers are advantageously arranged along a circular-arc plane. The web of material can thus be deflected with as large a radius as possible. This can reduce undesirable back-sway of the sagging portion of the web of material as a result of the intermittent operation. The end portions of the circular-arc plane can also extend tangentially to the provided direction of travel of the web of material, thereby potentially resulting in crease-free deflection of the web of material.
