Abstract

A machine for packaging groups of products in a roll with a sheet of film includes a first station wrapping the sheet on four consecutive sides of the group of products. For each of the two heads of the group, upper and lower horizontal flaps and first and second vertical flaps protrude. A second station for folding the four flaps has a conveyor surface for moving the group along a feed direction. A Folding devices, positioned on opposite sides of the conveyor fold the corresponding pairs of the flaps towards the head of the group. A device for generating a negative fluid pressure for each side of the conveyor surface, located before the device for folding each lower horizontal flap, relative to the feed direction, is configured to obtain, by generating a localised vacuum, a raising of the lower horizontal flap with respect to the conveyor surface.

Abstract

A machine for packaging groups of tissue products includes a dosing element with a plurality of passageways, each for receiving a row formed by a predetermined number of products for defining a layer of a group of products. A detection device associated with the dosing element detects a filling parameter relative to a number, dimension and/or orientation of the products occupying the passageways and generates a signal representing the filling parameter. A processing and control unit receives the signals representing the products and processes the signals to compare with signals relating to a reference layer for deriving an acceptance condition, wherein the layer is consistent with the reference layer and suitable for the packaging, or for eliminating the layer of products released from the dosing element. A rejection system ejects the layer when it is in the eliminating condition.

Abstract

This invention relates to a package for containing and picking up stacked articles (A) and a method for making the package, which make it possible to reduce the production costs of the package and, in any case, obtain a package which is sufficiently rigid to keep the shape of the above-mentioned package. The package comprises a stiffening structure (11) and a piece of plastic film (12) enclosing the stack and the stiffening structure. An opening is formable in the upper wall of the package to access the articles in the stack.

Abstract

Described is a method for making a package (1) of groups (2) of products for sanitary use comprising the following steps: forming a length of tubular film by means of continuous film (3) around a frame (4) comprising elements (5) for folding the film (3) and a plurality of walls (6, 7) forming a tubular channel (8) for the passage of the groups (2) of products; the tubular channel (8) has a width (L) and a height (H); joining head flaps of the film (3); inserting in the tubular channel (8), in the feed direction (A), a predefined number of groups (2) of products, advancing until close to the closed head end of the film (3); further feeding of the groups (2) of products with simultaneous feeding of the film (3) and relative forming of the package (1) beyond the frame (4); longitudinal joining of superposed longitudinal flaps of the film (3) simultaneously with the further feeding step; joining of the tail flaps of the film (3) in order to close the package (1) at the rear of the groups (2) of products bagged; between the step of introducing the groups (2) of products in the tubular channel (8) and the step of further feeding the groups (2) of products beyond the first transversal joining elements (9) there is a step of modifying the size of the tubular channel (8) using a device (12) for moving the frame (4) in such a way as to reduce the cross section of the tubular channel (8) and obtain a reduction in the overall size of the groups (2) of products by flattening them; the invention relates to a machine implementing the method.

IPC Classes  ?

  • B65B 11/42 - Wrapping articles, or quantities of material, by conveying wrapper and contents in defined paths in a combination of straight and curved paths to fold the wrappers in tubular form about contents and then to form closing folds of similar form at opposite ends of the tube
  • B65B 25/14 - Packaging paper or like sheets, envelopes, or newspapers, in flat, folded, or rolled form
  • B65B 59/00 - Arrangements to enable machines to handle articles of different sizes, to produce packages of different sizes, to vary the contents of packages or to give access for cleaning or maintenance purposes
  • B65B 9/10 - Enclosing successive articles or quantities of material, in preformed tubular webs, or in webs formed into tubes around filling nozzles, e.g. extruded tubular webs
