Abstract

A main spindle device has a main spindle (1) having a hollow hole, and a chuck unit (10) for grasping a work (W). A pipe unit (71) is inserted into the hollow hole of the main spindle (1) and receives insertion of the work (W) to thereby prevent the work (W) from vibrating when rotated together with the rotation of the main spindle. A support unit (72) supports the pipe unit (71) at one end of the main spindle (1) such that the axial line of the pipe unit (71) coincides with the axial line of the main spindle (1) and such that one end of the pipe unit (71) projects from the one end of the main spindle (1) to be positioned inside the chuck unit (10).

Abstract

With the use of a tool (41), first cutting is applied to a work (W), and then second cutting is applied to the work (W) while the tool (41) is transferred in an X-axis direction. Then, an amount of deviation dy between the cutting edge height of the tool (41) and the center line of the work (W) is calculated based on a first diameter value (D1) and second diameter value (D2) measured after the first cutting and second cutting are applied, and the travel distance of the tool (41) between the first cutting and the second cutting. Machining to the work (W) is resumed after the amount of deviation is corrected.

Abstract

The turning machine according to the present invention includes a displacement sensor (200) which measures a distance between an immobile reference point and a position of variable point which reflects the positional displacement of the tool, the immobile reference point being able to determine a relative positional correlation relating to a variable position of tools with the progress of machining of the workpiece (W) by the tool (421). In drawings the reference point is set up in the guide bush (90). And based on the measured result by the displacement sensor, the tool is moved so that the center height of the tool and the center line of the workpiece satisfy relatively the predetermined positional correlation. Accordingly, the center height deviation amount due to heat deformation and the like is corrected.

Abstract

In a lathe for machining work (W) by a tool (421), the position of the tool (421) varies according to the progress of the machining. The lathe has a displacement sensor (200) for measuring the distance between a reference point and a variation point in which a variation in the position of the tool (421) is reflected. The reference point is a point immovable relative to the varying position of the tool and is determined by a guide bush (90). The distance measured by the displacement sensor (200) determines a relative positional relationship between the position of the tool and the reference point. Based on the result of the measurement by the displacement sensor (200), the tool (421) is moved so that the height of the axis of the tool and the centerline of the work have a predetermined relative positional relationship. Consequently, the amount of displacement of the height of the axis of the tool due to thermal deformation can be corrected.

Abstract

First cutting is performed for a work (W) by means of a tool (41) and then second cutting is performed for the work (W) while the tool (41) is moved in the X axis direction. Following first and second cutting operations, the deviation (dy) between the core height of the tool (41) and the center line of the work (W) is operated based on the actually measured first diameter value (r1) and second diameter value (r2), and the moving distance of the tool (41) between both cutting operations. Machining for the work (W) is resumed after the deviation is corrected.
