Abstract

The invention provides a textile sleeve (100) comprising a plurality of friction elements (2) arranged on a surface (1a) of the sleeve. The textile sleeve is configured for eversion. The friction elements may comprise elements of a material with high static friction, preferably silicone and preferably arranged in rows (3) along the longitudinal direction (L) of the sleeve. The elements protrude from the surface of the textile and can be rounded or flat topped, with any desired cross-section when viewed from a direction orthogonal to the surface of the textile. The elements provide stiffness in the longitudinal direction of the sleeve as the elements abut, which ensures no rucking-up of the sleeve, while also providing friction with the object enclosed within the sleeve to prevent slip. The textile sleeve may be everted by drawing it back, inside out, over itself to expose part of the enclosed object within the sleeve and may also be returned to its original configuration. The invention further provides a method of manufacturing textile sleeves comprising friction elements.
