TSIL COMPOUND, PREPARATION METHOD AND METHOD FOR SELECTIVELY EXTRACTING INNER TRANSITION ELEMENTS FROM S-, D- AND P-BLOCK METALS USING THE TSIL COMPOUND
22 (6)] intended for the selective extraction of inner transition metals (lanthanides and actinides). The present invention also discloses the preparation of the extractant composition (5) + (6), which is a formulation capable of selectively extracting the periodic table elements of the f-block (actinides and lanthanides) at pH = 6. This selectivity with respect to the inner transition elements contrasts with the scarce selectivity and affinity with the s-, d- and p-block metals. The liquid-liquid extraction of this mixture (subject matter of this invention) can be separated and recycled several times once the extracted metal(s) has/have been released.

METHOD FOR SYNTHESISING A CARBONACEOUS MATERIAL AND USE THEREOF AS AN ELECTROCATALYST, ESPECIALLY FOR THE REDUCTION OF OXYGEN
The method of the present invention comprises the synthesis of carbonaceous materials with excellent electrocatalytic properties by using biomass waste. The method is based on the hydrothermal carbonisation of biomass waste by using nitrogen precursors and transition metals and a subsequent thermal treatment in an inert atmosphere. The appropriate selection of the precursors makes it possible to obtain materials with excellent activity in a single step at a high temperature and without the need for subsequent washing steps. Furthermore, these materials exhibit very high stability. Therefore, this strategy solves the problem of achieving low-cost catalysts based on renewable carbon precursors (biomass) with catalytic activity and sufficient durability to replace current commercial catalysts in the oxygen reduction reaction for fuel cells in an alkaline medium.
limlim, inside the substrate (7), said angle being equal to the critical angle of total reflection. The present invention relates to a method and a corresponding device for recovering water and eliminating nitrate ions in aqueous currents, based on denitrification by means of electrochemical reduction. The method allows nitrate ions to be converted into N2 gas and the majority of the treated water to be recovered as low-mineralised water, which helps minimise the environmental impact associated with the discharge of generated wastewater. Advantageously, the invention allows some of the ions in the treated water to be converted into recoverable insoluble salts, while other ions are managed as concentrated solutions useful in steps of the method. The invention also allows the gas mixture obtained in one of the steps of the method to be used to supply a fuel cell, thereby reducing energy costs and helping minimise fossil fuel use in the process.

A method for obtaining an improved plasticized material results from two differentiated steps: an esterification reaction for synthesizing a polycarboxylic acid ester oligomer in the presence of excess polyol and a catalyst, and a second step of gelatinization and plasticization at temperatures above 90° C. involving a starch mixed with water and with the polycarboxylic acid ester oligomer with excess polyol obtained in the previous step, and a coadjuvant. The catalyst used in the esterification reaction is the same as the coadjuvant used in the gelatinization and plasticization reaction. The plasticized material obtained with this method has a higher stability and a lower migration rate than known plasticized materials.

METHOD FOR OBTAINING CUTIN FROM PLANT WASTE AND CUTIN OBTAINED
The invention relates to a method that allows cutin from plant waste to be obtained, the cutin having thermal stability at temperatures above 200°C. The method comprises milling the plant waste, adding an alkaline solution and performing a first ultrasonic extraction in an alkaline medium, thereby obtaining a supernatant rich in water-soluble proteins and antioxidants and a solid residue that undergoes a second ultrasonic extraction in ethanol. The supernatant obtained is separated and mixed with an acid to obtain a solution with a pH of 3.5-5.5. The cutin will precipitate after the solution has been kept at at least 4°C for at least four hours. Thus, the cutin precipitate is separated from the supernatant and, optionally, dried. Advantageously, the obtained cutin can be used in the chemistry, cosmetics, pharmacology and food industries

USE OF CHITOSAN TO INCREASE THE PRODUCTION OF VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS OF THE BANANA PLANT OF THE GENUS MUSA
Disclosed is a methodology using chitosan, a natural biopolymer, to change the production of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from banana plants. This method activates the metabolism of VOCs that defend the plant against various stresses and promote its growth, thus being potentially useful in agriculture, replacing chemical fertilisers and toxic phytosanitary products. The methodology can therefore be used industrially and commercially.
The present invention discloses a device and a method using said device that comprise the use of a three-dimensional structure made of polymer material or organic material that is mechanically resistant and heavier than water, which enables the fluid volume in the larvae breeding container to be compartmentalised. Thus, the receptacles comprised in the three-dimensional structure defined by a number of cross-shaped elements facilitate the motility and attachment of the aerobic aquatic larvae during their development and growth. In this manner, the nourishment required for the controlled production of said larvae is introduced in the larvae breeding container, which generates less waste and provides a physical support that favours the anchoring of the larvae, avoiding their mortality and significantly increasing the efficiency of the process.
The device of the invention is capable of measuring the gripping force exerted by subjects when performing basic activities of daily living (BADL), such as eating, writing, hygiene, etc. Furthermore, the device sends real-time notifications to the patient if they are exerting excessive or insufficient gripping force. For example, during teeth brushing, the patient can ascertain how much force they are exerting and, in turn, receive a warning if the force is above or below a predetermined optimum force threshold. The greatest achievement of this invention is that it provides efficient training regarding the amount of force applied when performing these activities, such that the patient's manipulative abilities are strengthened and their autonomy and quality of life are improved.
