Abstract

The present invention is related to the process of obtaining CaO-MgO binders and construction products, with reuse of subproducts and/or residues and carbon dioxide, by compression molding. The binders are produced by crushing and grinding. The process of manufacturing the products consists of mixing binders and subproducts and/or residues with residual non-potable water, and curing this mixture with carbon dioxide, under constant humidity, temperature and pressure conditions. The process of hardening is carried out by recirculating carbon dioxide in a closed circuit, followed by drying of the products. The subproducts and/or residues are rich in calcium and magnesium and may be slag from the steel manufacturing industry or sand and mud resulting from the pulp, paper and cardboard production industry. The construction products may include other residues and materials containing silica and aluminum.

Abstract

The present invention concerns a device that recycles thermoplastics for the production of filaments for fused deposition modeling devices (FDM) and respective operation method. The triturated thermoplastic is introduced into the feed hopper (4), pushed by a screw activated by the motor (1), inside the jacket (5), the axial force of which is supported by the axial bearing (2). The thermoplastic is melted with the help of electric heating resistors (6) and passes through a degassing zone (7) connected to the vacuum pump (3). The thermoplastic is forced through the extrusion head (8), being cooled in a cooling tray (9) with a circulating water system (12). The diameter of the filament is controlled by the pulling device (11) based on the data obtained in the filament diameter measuring system (10). The whole process is controlled by a microcontroller.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a system for ice detection/prevention and flow control based on the impression of sliding plasma actuators with dielectric discharge barrier. This invention has advantages such as: reduced weight, low maintenance cost, no environmental impact, fully electrical operation and combination of functions (ice detection, de-icing, anti-icing and flow control). The system comprises the following components: exposed AC electrode (1), dielectric layer (2), embedded electrode (3), nanosecond/sliding electrode (4), ground plane (5), AC power source (6), DC power source (7), nanosecond pulse generator (8), monitoring capacitor (9), high-voltage probe (10), control module (11), temperature sensor (12), control signal input module (13) and monitoring system (14). The system detects the formation of ice and generates extensive surface heating that prevents ice from accumulating.

Abstract

The present invention concerns an underwater system for energy storage, which resorts to compressed air, directed to adjust in time the generation of electrical energy by large generation systems to the consumption curves. For this purpose, the system comprises a compressed air reservoir of variable-volume (3), a system anchorage component (4), and a union tube (2) connecting the system to a means of energy generation and air compression (1). Therefore, the present invention finds its main application in the adjustment of energy generation associated with floating oceanic wind parks, to be installed far away from coastal regions, or with other energy generation oceanic systems that are subjected to irregular schemes of generation or consumption.
