The invention relates to a method for extracting ions present in a porous material, which allows the counteraction of all of the harmful effects inherent in electrochemical techniques, such as: 1) extreme changes in pH generated in the vicinity of the porous medium to be treated; 2) reduction in the efficiency of the treatment caused by H+ and OH ions entering the medium; and 3) limited duration of said treatments due to the drying of the material which is in contact with the anode. To this end, the method according to the invention allows a distribution of the electric field to be established, which allows the regulation of an electro-osmotic process in the anode, via the potential applied to a series of electrodes forming each of the compartments of the electrolytic cell (in the preferred embodiment thereof: two electrodes in the anode compartment and two in the cathode compartment), at the same time as protecting the treated medium from extreme pH values which may cause a process of chemical alteration in the medium. The larger the difference in potential established between the electrodes, the greater the effects associated with said new distribution of the electric field. The method can be adapted to different configurations that will only improve the effects associated with an improvement of the anode, or an improvement of the cathode, or will generate a reduction in the costs associated with the method by means of the application of current pulses. Furthermore, the invention uses an electrokinetic device that allows the described method to be applied in any of the variants thereof to vertical porous structures such as walls of buildings or infrastructure.

ELECTROKINETIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONSOLIDATING POROUS MATERIALS
The invention relates to a device and an associated electrokinetic method which allows the pores (superficial and deep) of a porous material to be filled, by forcing the precipitation therein of a product of low solubility in water by creating an electric field which will mobilise the cations and anions supplied by previously selected solutions. This method comprises two phases. In the first phase, the pores located at a specified distance from the surface of contact between the porous material and the anodic or cathodic compartment are plugged. In a second phase, the rest of the pores, mainly those which are on the surface level, are collapsed. As a result of the designed device and the plugging system contained therein, the porous material is not affected at any moment by chemical alteration processes caused by contact with extreme pH values. This device allows the treatment to be applied to vertical surfaces.
The invention relates to a dismantlable joint system for metal beams that have a level upper part, characterised by the use of a main support plate (1) and a secondary support plate (2). The plates are provided with slots (3, 4) that enable different-sized standard I-profiles to be joined. The invention relates to a method for reducing impulse noise (IN) in telecommunication systems by extending the receiver band. The fundamental principle of this method consists in extending the receiver band, i.e. adding more bandwidth to the receiver than that which is strictly necessary in order to demodulate the signal desired to be received. Subsequently, the impulse noise is reduced by eliminating the samples that exceed a certain amplitude threshold. The method is advantageous in that by receiving more bandwidth of the impulse noise, said noise is easier to detect and the elimination thereof in said extended band is less detrimental to the signal desired to be received.
The invention relates to a method for the elimination of organic compounds present in wastewater, comprising a step of biological degradation wherein the effluent is treated with bacteria in a means containing salts and a non-ionic surfactant, followed by a step of liquid-liquid extraction of the organic compounds which have not been previously metabolised, using a non-ionic surfactant and a salt as a phase segregation agent.
The invention relates to a method for conferring hydrophobicity on wood or wooden products by means of a chemical-enzymatic treatment. The treatment consists of the application of oxidase enzymes, preferably laccases, and a phenolic compound having a hydrophobic group to the wood or to a wooden product under particular environmental conditions. Under said conditions, the enzyme promotes the bonding of the compound having a hydrophobic group with the wood or wooden product, providing the treated wood or wooden product with the property of the compound. This type of bonding is permanent given that the hydrophobic compound bonds with the wood by means of stable chemical bonds, thus preventing the removal thereof in subsequent washes. This treatment can provide the wood with a greater resistance to moisture, which, owing to the increase in the dimensional stability and durability of the wood, improves the applicability of the wood.
The invention concerns a hydraulic system for generating electrical energy by using the energy produced by wave movement (wave power), on the basis of the compression and expansion of a fluid, which may be hydraulic or pneumatic, by means of a piston actuated by wave movement. Via a hydraulic inverter, the fluid supplies a hydraulic (or pneumatic) motor coupled to an electric generator. The system is disposed inside a floating buoy, moved by the action of the surge. The movement of the piston is brought about by the combined action of the surge and a guycable (or the like) tensioned by a dead weight, and a mechanical spring (or hydraulic or pneumatic accumulation system which fulfils the same function) which ensures that the cable is taut. The system comprises a secondary cylindrical chamber, separate from that of the generator cylinder or forming part thereof, for compensating the variation in position of the buoy owing to the effects of the tide.

MECHANICAL SYSTEM FOR GENERATING ELECTRICAL ENERGY FROM WAVE POWER
The invention concerns a mechanical system for generating electrical energy by using the energy produced by wave movement (wave power), based on the vertical displacement of a counterweight. The system is disposed inside a housing which acts in the manner of a floating buoy and is moved by the action of the surge. The counterweight is connected to an anchored dead weight by a steel cable, which is wound in a parbuckle. The upward movement of the counterweight is brought about when the buoy rises owing to the effect of the surge. The potential energy obtained by the counterweight as it rises is used during its downward movement to generate preferably electrical energy.

The present invention provides a method of determining the presence of an analyte in a liquid sample. The method comprises contacting a first binding moiety with the liquid sample, the first binding moiety being linked to signal moiety which yields a signal and specifically binding the analyte to form a reaction conjugate. A detection conjugate is formed by binding the reaction conjugate to a reducing agent-generating moiety. The detection conjugate is contacted with a substrate for the reducing agent-generating moiety and metal ions; and the signal yielded by the signal moiety is measured. A change in the signal indicates the presence of the analyte.
Burst noise (RI) consists of a succession of peaks of short duration but large amplitude, which are mixed with the desired signal in the receiver and which are detrimental to communications. Long-term evolution (LTE) and similar type mobile phone systems use spatial multiplexing and diversity techniques consisting in using various transmitting and receiving antennas in order to increase the robustness and speed of the transmission of data in the communication. The aim of the method is to suppress burst noise in radio receivers with spatial multiplexing or diversity by permanently observing the amplitude of the signal received in all of the antennas. When the amplitude in all of the antennas simultaneously exceeds a pre-defined threshold the received signal is acted on by substituting the samples affected with other zero-value samples.
