Abstract

The present invention comprises a structure with the same external geometry as a generic hook, but with a topology (internal structuring) that allows a greater distribution of deformation energy to all elements of the part, with load transfer to other less stressed regions. When the present invention is subjected to a loading, said flexible parts deform in a pre-specified manner, transferring part of a loading that would be excessive in a given region to another less loaded region, without any power supply or external interference. In this way, the deformation pattern that occurs in the present invention relieves stresses where they are greatest and, at the same time, provides flexibility (compliance), more adequately distributing coupling loads between the various fastening components.

Abstract

The present invention describes an extractive oxidation process for removing contaminants from hydrocarbon streams using an ionic liquid combined with an organometallic ionic complex of iron(II), which comprises a complex of iron(II) cation with an ionophilic binder, catalyst of iron(II) with ionophilic binder in its molecular structure, oxidation of which is performed with an oxidizing agent and is catalysed by the organometallic iron(II) complex present in the phase of the ionic liquid. Besides maintaining its characteristics of selective solvent of oxidizing compounds, the ionic liquid combined with the organometallic complex of iron(II) with catalytic ionophilic binder of the oxidizing agent, stimulating the reactive phenomenon taking place in the ionic liquid phase, with the effect that the iron remains stable in the ionic liquid phase, without being leached into the oily phase. This measure results in a considerable improvement in removal of the heteroatoms from the hydrocarbon medium.

Abstract

The present invention describes an extractive oxidation process for removing contaminants from hydrocarbon streams using an ionic liquid combined with an organometallic ionic complex of iron(ll), which comprises a complex of iron(ll) cation with an ionophilic binder, catalyst of iron(ll) with ionophilic binder in its molecular structure, oxidation of which is performed with an oxidizing agent and is catalysed by the organometallic iron(ll) complex present in the phase of the ionic liquid. Besides maintaining its characteristics of selective solvent of oxidizing compounds, the ionic liquid combined with the organometallic complex of iron(ll) with catalytic ionophilic binder of the oxidizing agent, stimulating the reactive phenomenon taking place in the ionic liquid phase, with the effect that the iron remains stable in the ionic liquid phase, without being leached into the oily phase. This measure results in a considerable improvement in removal of the heteroatoms from the hydrocarbon medium.

Abstract

Polymeric blends of polystyrene (PS) and polylactic acid (PLA) are described, in the preparation of which a compatibilizing agent was added, preferably a PS-PLA block copolymer. Such compatibilizing agents act controlling phase separation of the blending compounds, and preventing excessive growth of polystyrene domains scattered in the PLA matrix; and this results in blends with good mechanical and thermal resistance.

Abstract

The present utility model describes an isoelastic femoral stem made of polymer for hip prostheses. The novelty is a differentiated femoral stem design made of polyether ether ketone (PEEK), a commercially available biomaterial which has very similar properties to those of human bone and withstands a fatigue test which simulates stress conditions to which a stem must be mechanically subjected in order to be approved for use. The stem can also be made of polymers having less mechanical strength than PEEK, as shown by tests carried out with nylon polymer (TECAST-L).

Abstract

The present invention describes benzylthiazolidinone derivatives and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the same; these compounds have shown activity in schizophrenia animal models, with the advantage of not causing the typical adverse effects of antipsychotic drugs, since they exhibited lower incidence of catatonia and weaker effects on motor coordination, when compared with other antipsychotic drugs, such as haloperidol and clozapine, and no central nervous system depression effect; the molecules showed an effect in models of apomorphine-induced climbing, ketamine-induced hyperlocomotion and in prepulse startle response inhibition. FPY-3 did not exhibit any toxic effects after 14 days of treatment, and is potentially useful for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a friction butt-welding machine for tubular elements, using the rotation of a disk which has a width similar to that of the wall of the tubular element and is placed between the ends of the two tubular elements to be welded. The machine comprises two systems for fastening the machine onto the tubular elements, which systems are actuated by hydraulic cylinders that extend along the axis of the tubular elements in order to apply pressure to each of the tubular elements, and a system of hydraulic cylinders which are also arranged along the axis of the tubular elements in order to apply a welding and compression force to the tubular elements. Besides the fastening systems, the equipment comprises a system for rotating the disk in order to cause friction between the disk and the tubular elements and carry out welding. This system comprises motors, a power transmission system and a ring for fastening the friction disk. The set values of the welding and compression force, rotation, welding and compression time, wearing of the tubular elements and ring, are automatically controlled from the outside by a servo-controlled system formed by commercially available devices, on the basis of data obtained from the load transducer and movement and motor torque transducers.

The present invention further describes a method for treating inflammation using pharmaceutical compositions containing the alkaloid fraction of Rhodophiala bifida as the active ingredient. The present invention therefore comprises an extraction method that is faster than other extraction methods described in the literature for the alkaloid fraction of Rhodophiala bifida, dispensing with numerous changes of solvent in order to strain the plant, and the use thereof as an anti-inflammatory. The present invention is further characterised by the development of an anti-inflammatory medicinal drug for treating and preventing diseases involving inflammation and/or the local increase in the number of fibroblasts as its etiopathogenesis, such as: rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, sepsis, acute pulmonary disease, inflammatory infections, in particular inflammatory and fibrosing diseases related to the lungs and kidneys, osteoporosis, Castleman disease, psoriatic arthritis, juvenile chronic arthritis and other non-specific inflammatory joint diseases.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a metallocene catalyst containing a transition metal from group 4 or 5 of the periodic table, which is supported by hybrid catalytic supporting means with aliphatic organic groups. A process for supporting metallocene on said hybrid catalytic supporting means with aliphatic organic groups is also described. The main advantage of the supported metallocene catalyst of the present invention is that an ethylene polymer with broad or bimodal molar mass distribution is produced by using only one type of metallocene complex on the supporting means. As a result, the resin produced can be processed in an improved manner, which consequently potentially decreases processing costs.
