Abstract

A processing system has a processor and profiling circuitry. The processor is configured to commit instructions in a program order, and comprises circuitry for determining and storing performance-event data for each instruction committed by the processor. The performance-event data for each instruction indicates whether the instruction experiences any of a predetermined set of one or more performance events. The profiling circuitry generates sample data at intervals, and writes the sample data to a sample register or memory. The sample data generated at each interval identifies one or more instructions that are next-to-be committed by the processor or one or more instructions that were last committed by the processor, and comprises the respective performance-event data for each of the identified instructions.

Abstract

RDH12RDH12 gene causes an upstream start codon (uATG) resulting in insufficient RDH12 protein production and hence causes inherited retinal disease. ASOs which hybridize with a region surrounding or containing said uATG provide steric hindrance for recognition of the upstream start codon, thus redirecting the scanning ribosomes to the primary start codon which results in increased RDH12 protein production.

Abstract

Provided is a process for the environmental-friendly treatment of sulfate-containing wastewater. The acidic, sulfate-containing wastewater is treated in a sulfate reducing bioreactor with influent and effluent looped through to the cathode compartment of an electrochemical cell. The electrochemical cell stabilizes the pH in the bioreactor by the in-situ production of base in the cathode compartment. Additionally, hydrogen is produced which is used in the bioreactor as electron donor for the sulfate reduction. The middle compartment of the electrochemical cell contains a sulfide rich aqueous solution in which the extracted cations are displaced by protons from the anode compartment. This results in the acidification of the sulfide rich solution, which is beneficial for the extraction of sulfides as H2S. This H2S can be used for the precipitation of metals in the beginning of the process, forming another loop.

Abstract

This disclosure relates to methods and systems for generating T cell precursors from hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) in vitro. This disclosure discloses that—besides activation of the Notch signaling pathway—activation of tumor necrosis factor receptor 2 (TNFR2) present on the HSPCs is crucial to maximize the generation of T cell precursors. Hence, this disclosure relates to methods and systems, such as artificial thymic organoid systems, wherein agonists for TNFR2, such as transmembrane tumor necrosis factor (tmTNF), are used to maximally generate T cell precursors. The latter T cell precursors are useful for immune reconstitution due to transplantation or immunodeficiency disorders and may be used to generate off-the-shelf chimeric antigen receptor T cells or T cell receptor engineered T cells for immunotherapeutic purposes.
