Abstract

The invention relates to a method for preparing a transport container which has an accommodation space for goods to be transported, said accommodation space being insulated by external thermal insulation. At an equipment site, the accommodation space is equipped with preconditioned, main latent heat storage elements necessary for a target heat capacity. In addition to the preconditioned, main latent heat storage elements, the accommodation space is also equipped with further thermal energy storage elements, the auxiliary energy storage elements, which are preconditioned to a specified temperature. This means that a longer transfer time period can be allowed after equipping and before filling the accommodation space with the goods to be transported, such that, from the filling time, the full target time period within the desired target temperature range is available for transporting the goods to be transported.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for checking the functional capability of the thermal insulation of a transport container, at least one vacuum insulation panel being installed in the thermal insulation of the transport container, which vacuum insulation panel consists of a porous core material of low thermal conductivity and a gas-tight casing, which surrounds the core material in a tightly contacting manner at very low internal pressure, and which vacuum insulation panel has a pressure sensor and a transponder connected to the pressure sensor within the casing, the transponder being controlled for checking by means of an external reading device from outside the thermal insulation and the response signal of the transponder being captured (read out) and the response signal being evaluated with respect to whether the internal pressure in the vacuum insulation panel is correctly low or incorrectly high. Said method is characterized in that the external reading device can be moved and, while the transport container stands still or is moved in a controlled manner, the external reading device is moved to a specified position relative to the transport container in an automated, motorized manner, said position being suitable for reading out the transponder, that the response signal of the transponder is captured there and that the captured response signal of the transponder is electronically evaluated in an automated manner.

Abstract

A process is for the pre-conditioning of one or more latent heat storage elements in the case of which the temperature or the narrow temperature range of the phase transition defines a target temperature and the latent heat storage elements are heated up to the target temperature. The latent heat, storage elements are cooled to an initial temperature below the target temperature and this initial temperature is determined. The latent heat storage elements at the initial temperature are introduced into a thermally insulated container and the container is then closed. The interior of the closed container is, or has been, connected to a heating device of which the thermal output which takes effect in the interior of the closed container is known. The initial temperature of the latent heat storage elements, the thermal capacity of the latent heat storage elements located in the container and also the target temperature of the latent heat storage elements are used to calculate the quantity of heat which has to be fed to the interior of the container in order for the latent heat storage elements to reach the target temperature (desired quantity of heat). The heating device is switched on and is operated continuously, or at intervals, until the desired quantity of heat has been fed to the interior of the dosed container.

Abstract

A method is for preconditioning at least one latent heat storage element, which is arranged in a thermally insulated, closed container having a space for accommodating goods to be transported. The latent heat storage element has a target temperature preferably slightly in excess of 0 DEG C. In such an arrangement, it is particularly practical for the accommodation space in the container to be filled with a certain amount of a coolant, particularly ice, and for the container to be closed, and therefore the latent heat storage element located in the container is cooled to the target temperature.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a vacuum insulating body (vacuum insulation panel; VIP) made of a vacuum-tight foil (1) or foil connection and a flat filter material (5), in particular a single-layer or multi-layer non-woven material, which is air-permeable but is not permeable for a powdered filling material (4). The flat filter material (5) is firmly connected to the film (1) at the edge in such a way that the connecting edge (6) is in any case impermeable for the powdered filling material (4). Thus a receiving space (7) is produced between the vacuum-tight foil (1) and the flat filter material (5). Said receiving space (7) is filled by means of a filling element (8) of a filling device (9). The filling element (8) passes through the flat filter material (5). After the filling is completed, the filling element (8) is removed from the flat filter material (5) and the flat filter material is closed again at the location concerned. The composite of the film (1) and the filter material (5) thus produced and the filling material (4) located in the receiving space (7) is brought as a whole to a lower pressure and the receiving space (7) and the filling material (4) located therein is ventilated through the flat filter material (5). Subsequently, and while the vacuum is further sustained, the vacuum-tight film (1) is firmly closed completely all around the edge in such a way that said connecting edge (10) is impermeable for air and thus the receiving space (7) is closed as a whole in an airtight manner.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing an especially panel-shaped vacuum insulation element which is wrapped in a film and is filled with a powder. According to the method, the unmolded, loose powder is filled, particularly poured, into the opening of a bag which is formed from a high-barrier film and is open on one side. A filter material that is permeable to air and impermeable to powder dust is fixed to the internal face of the film bag in the area of the opening of the filled film bag such that the interior of the bag is closed in a dust-tight manner while air can still be discharged. The interior of the dust-tightly closed film bag is then evacuated and the evacuated film bag is air-tightly closed in a vacuum.
