Abstract

The invention relates to a filter cartridge (4) for filtering water for use in an air humidifier (1), comprising a storage chamber for storing filter material and comprising at least one opening (11) for supplying water to be filtered to the storage chamber or discharging the water out of the storage chamber. In order to achieve a quicker filling process, the filter cartridge (4) is designed to be arranged in a container (3) with water to be filtered such that the filter cartridge (4) can protrude at least partly into the water stored in the container (3). The at least one opening (11) is designed both as a water inlet for supplying water from the container (3) into the storage chamber as well as a water outlet for discharging water out of the storage chamber into the container (3).
