Abstract

The invention relates to a Solanum lycopersicum plant comprising in its genome a QTL conferring to the plant an improved resistance to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit virus, with respect to a corresponding plant devoid of said QTL, and wherein said QTL is introgressed from S. pimpinellifolium and is to be found on chromosome 9, within the chromosomal region delimited by the SNP TO-0201220 (SEQ ID NO:1) and the SNP having SEQ ID NO:101 or on chromosome 11, within the chromosomal region delimited by markers having SEQ ID NO:102 and 115. This QTL may be chosen from those present in the genome of a plant of the seeds LVSTBRFVRES2 NCIMB accession number 43591. The QTL is preferably characterized by defined alleles of different SNPs on chromosome 9 or 11. The invention is also directed to parts of these plants with improved resistance, as well as progeny, to the use of these plants for introgressing the improved resistance in another genetic background, as well as to different methods for obtaining tomato plants or seeds with increased foliar and/or fruit resistance to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit virus.

Abstract

The present invention relates to resistance to Xanthomonascampestris pv. campestris (Xcc) in cauliflower. According to the invention, the resistance is provided by DNA sequences, introgressed from a green cauliflower at specific loci in the genome of a white cauliflower. The introgressed sequences can be present homozygously or heterozygously in the genome of the white cauliflower, and they confer resistance to Xcc. The invention further relates to part of these cauliflowers, to seeds, to the progeny of these cauliflowers, and to method for producing cauliflowers resistant to Xcc.

Abstract

The invention relates to a Solanum lycopersicum plant resistant to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit virus comprising in its genome the combination of the Tm-1 resistance gene on chromosome 2, and at least one quantitative trait locus (QTL) chosen from QTL3 on chromosome 11, QTL1 on chromosome 6 and QTL2 on chromosome 9, that independently confer to the plant foliar and/or fruit tolerance to TBRFV, wherein said QTLs are present in the genome of a plant of the seeds HAZTBRFVRES1 NCIMB accession number 42758. The combination of at least one of these QTLs with the Tm-1 gene delays, reduces or inhibits the replication or multiplication of the virus in the plants of the invention. Abstract

The present disclosure provides compositions, methods, and systems for targeted plant genome editing. In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides recombinant self-replicating RNAs derived from a plant virus vector, such as those derived from Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV). In some embodiments, the recombinant self-replicating RNAs direct the expression of both a CRISPR endonuclease and a guide RNA capable of directing sequence-specific binding of the CRISPR endonuclease to a target DNA in the genome of plant cell.

Abstract

Solanum lycopersicum plant resistant to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit virus comprising in its genome the combination of the Tm-1 resistance gene on chromosome 2, and at least one quantitative trait locus (QTL) chosen from QTL3 on chromosome 11, QTL1 on chromosome 6 and QTL2 on chromosome 9, that independently confer to the plant foliar and/or fruit tolerance to TBRFV, wherein said QTLs are present in the genome of a plant of the seeds HAZTBRFVRES1 NCIMB accession number 42758. The combination of at least one of these QTLs with the Tm-1 gene delays, reduces or inhibits the replication or multiplication of the virus in the plants of the invention. Abstract

The present invention relates to Solanum lycopersicum (S. lycopersicum) plants with resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV), powdery mildew (PM) and nematodes. According to the invention, the resistances are provided by coupling in cis on the same chromosome the OL4 gene conferring resistance to PM and nematodes and TY1 gene conferring resistance to TYLCV, without coupling the Mi-1 gene conferring resistance to nematodes in cis with said OL4 gene conferring resistance to PM and nematodes and TY1 gene conferring resistance to TYLCV. The genes can be present homozygously or heterozygously in the genome of the S. lycopersicum plants, and they confer resistance to TYLCV, PM and nematodes. The present invention is directed to melon plant and seed, namely of C. melo subsp. melo, which are resistant to ToLCNDV, comprising in their genome introgressed sequences from C. melo subsp. agrestis var. acidulous conferring resistance to said virus, when present homozygously. The introgressed sequences are preferably characterized by defined alleles of SNPs on chromosome 11, inter alia allele A of SNP Melon_sbg_14207_58 (SEQ ID No:9). The introgressed sequences can be chosen from those present in the genome of a plant of ToLR accession number NCIMB 42506. The invention is also directed to parts of these resistant plants, as well as progeny, to the use of these plants for introgressing the resistance in another genetic background, as well as to different methods for obtaining resistant melon plants or seeds.

A part-carrying die of the tool is provided with a cutting upper edge and separated from the guiding body by an opening provided with a through bore which the lower end of the punch enters when cutting the sample to be collected. An actuator to actuate the punch between an initial position, a stationary intermediate position, and a final position in which the punch passes through the die. The path of the punch is tangential to the surface of the opening and the bore is tangential to a geometric plane containing the surface to make a cut with an open contour in the plant from which the sample is collected.

Abstract

The invention relates to a sampling tool (1'), characterised in that same includes: a guiding body (1) provided with a through bore (10); a part-carrying punch (2) mounted slidingly adjustable in the bore (10), comprising a lower edge (20), forming a cutting edge; a part-carrying die (3) separated from the guiding body (1) by an opening (4), being provided with a through bore (30) which the lower end (20) of the punch (2) enters when cutting of the sample to be collected, and being provided with a cutting upper edge; a means for actuating the punch (2) between an initial position, in which said punch is retracted into the body (1), a stationary intermediate position, in which the punch is positioned by the edge (20) thereof in the bore (30), and a final position in which the punch passes through the die (3) from one side to the other, the lower edge thereof being outside of the bore (30). The path of the punch (2) is tangential to the surface (310) of the opening (4) and the bore (30) is tangential to a geometric plane containing said surface (310) in order to make a cut with an open contour in the plant from which the sample is collected.

Abstract

The present invention discloses a tomato plant exhibiting a branching inflorescence phenotype. The aforementioned plant produces statistically significant high yield of mature fruits having the characteristics of average individual fruit weight or average individual fruit brix levels or a combination thereof, similar to fruits produced by a tomato line that is used as the normally branched parent line of said tomato plant. It is also within the scope of the present invention to disclose methods for producing the aforementioned tomato plants and uses thereof.

Abstract

The present invention relates to nucleic acid sequences which have a transcriptional promoter activity preferentially in the phloem of plants under conditions of stress, or in the roots, to derived sequences, to constructs containing such sequences, and also to cells transformed with said constructs and to transgenic plants. The present invention makes it possible to place any transgene under the transcriptional control of a promoter, the activity of which is tissue-specific, organ-specific and/or inducible by environmental factors, such as biotic or abiotic stresses.
