Abstract

Disclosed is a high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) probe for noninvasive skin treatment. The probe includes an external rotating shaft driven by a motor, an internal rotating shaft that moves a transducer within a cartridge, and a magnet coupler that magnetically couples the shafts across a first sidewall of the cartridge. This magnetic coupling eliminates the need for sealing components, such as corrugated pipe-structured sealing members, preventing leakage of the ultrasound transmission medium. As a result, the design is simplified, manufacturing costs are reduced, and mass production efficiency is improved. Additionally, by removing sealing constraints, the transducer's movable range is expanded, enabling broader ultrasound treatment coverage in a single procedure.

Abstract

Disclosed is an apparatus for treating blood vessels in the skin. The present invention comprises: a plurality of electrodes inserted into the skin, as an object of treatment, and applying an electric signal to blood vessels in the skin; an electric signal generator electrically connected with the plurality of electrodes; and a power supply unit for supplying electric power to the electric signal generator. According to the present invention, a suitable thermal damage is applied to blood vessels in the dermis or epidermis, which are causes or aggravation factors of freckles, vascular freckles, pigmentation, rosacea, flush, erythema, or hemotelangiosis, to normalize abnormal hyperproliferation in the causative blood vessels or induce phagocytosis or apoptosis of vascular cells of the causative blood vessels, thereby improving the treatment effect, reducing side effects that occur due to excessive thermal damage applied to blood vessels in conventional treatment methods, and lowering the recurrence of freckles, vascular freckles, pigmentation, rosacea, flush, erythema, or hemotelangiosis, through the revascularization of removed blood vessels.

Abstract

According to the present invention, a skin treatment apparatus comprises: a plurality of needles each of which has a sharp end; a needle-fixing unit in which the plurality of needles are fixed; a driving unit for directly or indirectly transferring a force to the needle-fixing unit such that the plurality of needles fixed in the needle-fixing unit are inserted into the skin; and an electrical-energy transfer unit which is electrically connected to the plurality of needles. The electricity applied to the apparatus is alternating current; the electrical energy has a high frequency; the plurality of needles have a bipolar electrode system; and the area of the skin treated by the thus-configured apparatus achieves the appearance of being burnt by a Na-effector Na plus-effect. Na-effect referes to raising temperature of a localised are of dermis and to apply energy to achieve coagulation. Na plus-effect refers to similar effect spread to the dermis.
