A rate of change in the camera image caused by a change in the camera is monitored. A parameter of the camera system is periodically adjusted based on the incremental pose measurements. The adjustment is further set in order to effect the pose correction so as to correct for the estimated camera pose error and the pose correction is effected at a rate based on the monitored rate of change in the camera image.

The disclosure relates to a method of stabilising a recorded or projected image in an optical apparatus supported for damped movement in pan and tilt axes. The method comprises, for each axis, monitoring actual movement of the camera using a dynamic sensor; monitoring intended movement input by the operator across the damper using an opto-electronic transducer and determining at time intervals the difference between the actual and intended apparatus movement which represents unwanted movement and applying a correction to counter the unwanted movement. Movement due to-electronic drift in the dynamic sensor and opto-electronic transducers is determined from the residue of the aggregate of said differences between actual and intended movement over a period of time and is used to predict a value for electronic drift for the next difference between actual and intended movement which is taken into account in the difference.
The disclosure relates to a method of eliminating unwanted movement from a static or moving image which is captured or created in an optical apparatus. The method comprises determining unwanted movement in the image, providing an image control feature which has a zero reference position and a range over which the control can be varied to counter in the moving or static image said unwanted movement and using said control feature to remove said unwanted movement in a static or moving image. Non- zeroing in the image control to said reference position is monitored and a restoration to the image control is applied to bias the control towards the reference position at a rate which is a function of the speed of movement of the image in the optical apparatus to minimise the effect of the restoration correction on the image.
The disclosure relates to a pan and tilt head (12) for an optical apparatus (10) (e.g. a video camera) which captures or creates an image. An apparatus may include a transmitter to transmit a transmission corresponding to an input signal, wherein the transmitter may include a peak-to-average-ratio-reduction transformer to generate a plurality of transformed data components by applying a predefined peak-to-average-ratio-reduction transform scheme to a plurality of fine constellation data components corresponding to the input signal, wherein a peak-to-average-ratio corresponding to the plurality of transformed data components is lower than a peak-to-average-ratio corresponding to the plurality of fine-constellation data components; and a transmission module to generate the transmission based at least on the plurality of transformed data components. A monopod support especially for video filming comprises a rod at the longitudinally opposite ends of which are provided a base and an attachment for a video-photographic apparatus, respectively.
