A method conducted using a system having a first object with a first data processor, an RFID tag reader, and a first output device electrically coupled to the first data processor, and a second object with a second data processor, an RFID tag, and a second output device electrically coupled to the second data processor includes: transmitting, by the RFID tag reader to the RFID tag, a power signal with embedded input data; receiving, by the RFID tag, the power signal with the embedded input data. The embedded input data is extracted from the power signal and provided to the second data processor, and causes the second data processor to initiate an action. Responsive to receiving the power signal with the embedded input data, transmitting, by the RFID tag, response data to the RFID tag reader, wherein the first data processor processes the response data.

Methods, apparatus, and computer readable medium for creating and/or editing images are disclosed. An electronic tablet device may include a display, touch sensor, a motion sensor, controller and speaker. The motion sensor may generate input signals indicative of a spatial movement of the electronic tablet device. The controller may receive the input signals and generate output signals that move a drawing tool across a canvas of the display based on the spatial movement of the electronic device. The output signals may further update the canvas to reflect an effect of moving the drawing tool across the canvas per the tilting movement.

A reconfigurable user input device for use with an electronic video apparatus, such as a video game console, educational console or computer suitable for use by both left and right handed users. The multifunction user device further includes a base housing, a first input device and a second input device separated by a rotatable arm member mounted upon the base housing. A rotation mechanism is affixed between the rotatable arm member and the base housing permitting the arm member to rotate about a center axis to, in turn, permit the first input device and second input device to be respectively located alternatively to the left side or the right side of the housing.
An embodiment includes an electronic learning aid apparatus including a base unit. The base unit includes a surface for accepting a printed activity worksheet, a sensor positioned beneath the worksheet surface, a microprocessor, a code-reading device, a memory for storing digital speech data and digital control data, a speech synthesizer and speaker, an input device, and a communication port capable of permitting the electronic learning aid apparatus to communicate with a personal computer. The apparatus further includes at least one printed activity worksheet having a code thereon that is readable by the code-reading device and serves to identify activity worksheets and associated digital speech data and digital control data. The digital speech data and digital control data serve to generate an output to the user in response to the user's manipulation of the input device as detected by the sensor when the child touches the stylus to the activity worksheet.
An apparatus, such as a handheld electronic learning system, is provided with at least one multi-function, repositionable controller assembly. The controller assembly includes a first user input device, such as a joystick, and a second user input device, such as a pushbutton switch. The controller assembly, carried by the housing of the apparatus, is rotatable between a first position and a second position. When the controller assembly is in the first position, they joystick is accessible on the exterior surface of the apparatus, while the pushbutton switch is concealed within the housing and inhibited from use. When the controller is rotated to the second position, the pushbutton switch is accessible on the exterior surface of the apparatus, while the joystick is concealed within the housing and inhibited from use. The inclusion of two such multi-function, repositionable controller assemblies, on opposing sides of the apparatus, allows the apparatus to be rapidly configured by the user for left-handed or right-handed operation.
