A method for adapting an open-ended end portion of a biaxially stretched plastic pipe into a socketed end, which includes: heating up the end portion of the pipe, thereby enhancing the end portion's deformability; providing a forming tool, wherein the forming tool is provided with a radially expandable and/or radially enlarged portion, defining a run-on portion at an upstream end of the forming tool and having an expansion portion extending downstream therefrom, inserting the forming tool into the end portion of the pipe such that the open end of the end portion is closed off; and pressurizing an interior volume of the pipe towards the end portion by using a fluidum, wherein a degree of pressurization is chosen such that a fluidum lubricant layer is created between an outer circumference of the forming tool and an inner wall of the pipe.
The present invention provides an improved system for the biaxial expansion of polymeric pipe. Wherein the system comprises a tie bar, mandrel, and cooling system. In use, the polymeric pipe material is heated to be rendered plastic and biaxially deformable before being conveyed through the system, via the tie bar. Wherein the tie bar contains a plurality of channels for transporting fluid to different portions of the system. The first channel injects fluid over the mandrel, with the mandrel receiving a heated fluid that flows over the mandrel's surface counter-current to the pipe material, to lubricate the mandrel and increase friction between the pipe and the mandrel. The second channel collects the fluid from the mandrel to be reheated and recirculated. The third channel supplies a cooling fluid, consisting of air, to a cooling chamber formed by the rear of the mandrel, a downstream sealing member, and the pipe material between the two, wherein the cooling fluid is injected into the cooling chamber to freeze the material in place and providing sufficient volume to retain the pipe shape as it freezes, with the pressure inside the chamber being controlled by the upstream and downstream pressure regulators controlling the flow of fluid in and out of the cooling chamber, with the used fluid simply being released into the system's surroundings. Wherein the pipe material is pulled over the mandrel to be expanded to the desired dimensions before entering the downstream cooling system to be frozen into shape.

PIVOT JOINTS, KITS OF PARTS FOR ASSEMBLING PIVOT JOINTS, MANHOLE BASES, MANHOLES, WATER TRANSPORT SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF ASSEMBLING WATER TRANSPORT SYSTEMS
A pivot joint (4,4') for elements of a fluid transport system. A first pivot member (5) is connectable to a first element of the fluid transport system and a second pivot member (6) to a second element. Through the pivot joint a liquid-tight liquid flow channel can be established. The first pivot member comprises a larger cage (52) and a smaller cage (50). Each defines a pivot point for a respective rotatable part of the second pivot member mated with the respective cage. Each of the cages has a cage space in which the respective rotatable part is confined. The cage space is delimited by an inner surface. The inner surface forms a running surface (54,56) over which a contact surface (600,620) of the rotatable part is rotationally movable around the pivot point in a direction of rotation from the second element side towards the first element side. The curvature of the running surface in the direction of rotation determines the location of the pivot point. The smaller cage has a smaller running surface (54) and the larger cage has a larger running surface (56). The smaller running surface has a sharper curvature in the direction of rotation than the larger running surface. The larger running surface projects in a tangential direction from the second element side towards the first element side and parallel to the direction of rotation, beyond a second pivot member side edge of the smaller running surface.

ABOVE GROUND DRAINAGE FITTING AND SYSTEM, METHOD OF MAKING SUCH FITTING AND KIT FOR ASSEMBLING A CUSTOMISED ABOVE GROUND DRAINAGE FITTING, AND ELEMENTS THEREOF
A kit for assembling a customised above ground drainage fitting of a desired type, comprises a plastic base element 20 and a set of plastic add-on elements 30. The base element 20 has a tubular body through which a drainage flow channel for drainage liquid extends. An outside has at least one visibly demarcated region for providing, or provided with, an entrance to the drainage flow channel. The plastic add-on elements 30 are separate from and not attached to the base element 20. Each add-on element 30 has an add-on body mountable on the tubular body of the base element 20 to seal off, in an at least liquid tight manner, the entrance. An add-on passage extends through the add-on body, from a base element-side of the add-on body 30 to an exterior side of the add-on body 30. This provides access to the drainage flow channel through the add-on body. The fitting can be made by mounting on the base element 20 a selection of add-on elements 30 selected from the set based on the desired type.
A plastic infiltration unit comprising: a deck (4) extending in a plane, the deck having a first surface and a second surface, wherein the first surface is arranged to face in a first direction and the second surface is arranged to face in a second direction, wherein the second direction is different to the first direction, at least two support structures (12, 12´) which are each connected to the deck at the second surface and extend from the second surface, wherein each of the at least two support structures include a proximal portion located in a proximal zone with respect to the deck and a distal portion located in a distal zone with respect to the deck, and a reception location (18) located in the proximal zone, wherein another identical plastic infiltration unit comprising at least two another support structures and the plastic infiltration unit can be placed in an interconnected condition, wherein, in the interconnected condition, the at least two another support structures contact the at least two reception locations, so that a load exerted on the plastic infiltration unit is transferred to the identical plastic infiltration unit.
A pipe coupling (100) for receiving, holding and releasing a pipe, comprising a coupling body (110) having a bore (B) with a geometric axis (A) into which a pipe can be inserted in a pipe insertion direction (P); a rotatable sleeve (170) which is arranged at least partially around the coupling body (110) and which is rotatable around the axis of the bore with respect to the coupling body (110); a gripping element (140) configured to engage a surface of the pipe; a pipe release element (160) configured to disengage the gripping element (140) from the surface of the pipe upon axial movement of the pipe release element (160); and a release collar (180) coupled to an end of the rotatable sleeve (170). Axial rotation of the rotatable sleeve (170) in a first direction causes the release collar (180) to move axially from a locked position to an unlocked position and wherein in the unlocked position, the release collar (180) can be moved axially in a pipe insertion direction (P) to cause the pipe release element (160) to disengage the gripping element (140) from the surface of the pipe.
