Abstract

A single dose dispensing closure has a main body with an upper skirt portion for measuring and dispensing a predetermined dose of a flowable product from a container. A bottom wall, a rearwardly angled wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall, and an interior surface of the upper skirt together define a measuring reservoir. A port allows a product to flow from a container into the main body. A lid is movable to a closed position in which the lid portion and the main body define a filling chamber. A hinged closure tab seals an exit orifice on the front of the lid portion. When the exit orifice is closed, a user inverts the dispensing closure and container to substantially fill the filling chamber. When the dispensing closure is righted, a predetermined dose of the flowable product is retained in the reservoir, ready to be dispensed through the exit orifice.

Abstract

A dispensing closure for a container is disclosed. The dispensing closure includes a closure body including an upper wall having a dispensing orifice. The closure body further includes an upper peripheral skirt depending from the upper wall, a closure deck depending from the upper peripheral skirt, and a lower peripheral skirt depending from the closure deck. The lower peripheral skirt has a diameter larger than the upper peripheral skirt. The lower peripheral skirt is configured to be mounted on a container. A cap having an upper wall and a wall flange depends from the upper wall. A hinge body is also included. A first living hinge joins a first end of the hinge body to the lower peripheral skirt and is hingeably movable from an open position to a closed position in facing mating relation with the upper peripheral skirt. The hinge body and the upper peripheral skirt include interfitting mating formations to secure the hinge body in facing mating relation with the upper peripheral skirt. A second living hinge joins a second end of the hinge body to the sealing cap. The sealing cap is hingeably movable from an open position to a closed position overlying the upper wall of the closure body. A latch bump is also included and may be located on either the closure deck adjacent to the hinge or on the hinge adjacent to the closure deck. A latch bead is formed on the upper wall of the cap.

Abstract

A dispensing closure and label system provides a clear indication of prior opening directly at the point of application of force to open the closure. The dispensing closure includes a closure body, a living hinge and a lid. The lid includes a downwardly depending sidewall that has a thumb tab that extends down beyond the parting line of the lid and the closure body. A label wraps around the skirt and container neck. The label overlaps that portion of the thumb tab that extends below the parting line of the lid and body. When the thumb tub is lifted to open the container, the paper label is ripped in the area of the thumb tab to evidence opening.

Abstract

The dispensing closure for a container for dispensing a liquid contained therein, includes a closure body adapted to be mounted on the container. The closure body has an upper wall and a skirt depending downwardly therefrom and a dispensing orifice positioned thereon. A tubular flow modulating structure depends downwardly from the upper wall of the closure body. The tubular flow modulating structure has an inner surface configured and arranged to control the flow of liquid through the dispensing orifice and includes at least one dependent capillary slot. Optionally, the dispensing closure further includes a syneresis capture structure depending downwardly from the upper wall to prevent syneresis fluid from flowing through the dispensing orifice during the dispensing of the liquid contained within the container.

Abstract

A dispensing closure for a container comprising a closure body adapted to be mounted on the container. The closure body has a dispensing orifice and a sealing cap. A pair of adjacently spaced living hinges connect the sealing cap to the closure body for movement between an open and a closed position. The closure body and sealing cap have sealing elements that provide a complete peripheral seal between the sealing cap and the closure body when in the closed position. The sealing cap has a camming lug located between the living hinges, and contacting the sealing elements on the closure body without impairing the integrity of the sealing elements, and further provides a snap-action to the movement of the sealing cap from the open to the closed position.
