Abstract

The invention is directed to a drop and slide out idler assembly that can all be removed from a first side of a conveyor system. The assembly includes a first end roller unit with a roller having an axis of rotation at an angel with respect to the horizontal, and a middle roller unit with a roller having an axis of rotation that is horizontal. The assembly further includes a second end roller having a roller that can be raised at one end to have an axis of rotation at an angle with respect to the horizontal, and lowered to have an axis of rotation that is horizontal. In the lowered position, the second end roller unit can be slid out from under a conveyor belt of the system through the first side.

Abstract

A method of treating a material having a plurality of fines of a dusting material to prevent emanation of dust from the dusting material is described. An aqueous solution comprising a mixture of soluble non-ionic cellulose ether, a plasticizer, and a surfactant is provided. The aqueous solution is applied to a dusting material having a plurality of fines. The dusting material is transferred during the applying step from a first location to a second location as the aqueous solution is applied to the material having a plurality of fines. The dusting material is mixed with the aqueous solution to coat the material having a plurality of fines with the aqueous solution. The treated dusting material is accumulated into a mass of the material subsequent to the applying step wherein the aqueous solution is substantially evenly distributed throughout an interior portion of the mass of the treated dusting material.

Abstract

A method for treating coal to reduce spontaneous combustion by reducing an exothermic heat of adsorption after the coal has begun to dry and when the coal is subsequently exposed to a liquid water is described. A source of a fluid pressure of a diluted hydrocarbon mixture is provided. A hydrocarbon in the mixture is a hydrocarbon emulsion of mineral oil, fuel oil, asphalt, or coal tar emulsions. A volume of the diluted hydrocarbon mixture is applied to a stream of freshly-mined and undried coal to provide a waterproofing of the coal to prevent water uptake after exposure to precipitation or flooding during transport and storage of the coal. The treated coal is loaded into a bulk pile. A temperature change trend in the bulk pile is reversed wherein a temperature of the bulk pile trends towards an ambient temperature rather than trending to a temperature higher than the ambient temperature.

Abstract

A bulk material precision transfer chute apparatus (10) transfers a flow of material from a discharge conveyor (16) to a separate receiving conveyor (18). The apparatus (10) receives a flow of material from the discharge conveyor (16) and transfers that material to a receiving conveyor (18) which deposits the material in a precise manner that avoids spillage of the material from the receiving conveyor (18), avoids wear to the receiving conveyor (18) and avoids excess dust generation from the transfer of the material.
