Abstract

A method for operating an optical communication device for a wireless buckle system according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) detecting, by a sub control module, whether a seat belt is worn; (b) transmitting, by a sub transmission/reception module, seat belt wearing information to a main transmission/reception module at a predetermined first cycle; (c) transmitting, by a main control module, the seat belt wearing information received by the main transmission/reception module to a central processing unit of a vehicle; (d) when it is determined that seat belt wearing information of one or more vehicle seats has not been transmitted to the central processing unit for a time longer than the first cycle, detecting a configuration having caused the transmission/reception error; (e) selecting an alternative means for the detected configuration having caused the transmission/reception error in step (d); and (f) switching the optical communication device for the wireless buckle system into an emergency mode through the alternative means selected in step (e) and then operating the optical communication device.

A buckle and a method for preventing the buckle from being released by an impact are described. The buckle may include a frame, a tongue inserted into the frame and locked with the frame, an ejector provided in the frame to push the tongue outward from the frame, a holder that prevents the ejector from pushing the tongue outward from the frame by being displaced forward the ejector, thereby maintaining locking of the tongue, and a withdrawal prevention unit that prevents the holder from moving back beyond withdrawing and being displaced backward the ejector when an impact is applied from an outside of the frame, thereby preventing the locking of the tongue from being released by the impact.
