Abstract

Diatomaceous earth products are prepared by at least agglomerating at least one natural diatomaceous earth material with at least one of aluminate material, and subjecting agglomerated diatomaceous earth material to at least one heat treatment. In one embodiment, the diatomaceous earth product has a permeability ranging from about 0.2 darcy to about 3.0 darcy.
