Abstract

The invention relates to an inductive component having a wire winding, having a base plate made of magnetically conductive material, and having at least two electrically conductive connection surfaces on a bottom face of the base plate for SMT (Surface Mounted Technology) mounting, wherein: the wire winding is in the form of a flat spiral winding; the wire winding is arranged on a top face of the base plate; at least four U-shaped clips having two limbs and having a base connecting the limbs are provided; the U-shaped clips are arranged on the base plate such that each first limb is arranged on the top face of the base plate and each second limb is arranged on the bottom face of the base plate; in the case of a first clip and in the case of a second clip, at least one portion of each second limb forms a connection surface; a first winding end of the wire winding is connected to the first limb of the first clip, and a second winding end of the wire winding is connected to a first limb of the second clip; and a third clip and a fourth clip are arranged on the base plate so as to be spaced apart from one another and spaced apart from the first and the second clip.

Abstract

A package for housing an electric or electronic component is disclosed. The package includes a base and a header that includes a top portion and a support portion. The support portion has a first and a second end that defines a first and a second opening respectively. The top portion is secured to the first end and covers the first opening. The top portion includes a header vent to allow a substance (e.g., air, water, etc.) to flow into or out of an interior of the package. The header is configured to house the component therein. The header can be placed into a circular hole of the circuit board. The base is secured to the second end of the support portion, and is configured to secure the package to the circuit board. The vent can minimize moisture within the package and/or drain liquid from inside of the package.
