Abstract
The invention relates to a sewing machine, comprising a contact area (1) for two superimposed material webs, which have edges and which are to be sewn together by means of the sewing machine, wherein, in order to align the edges of the material webs to each other, there is a bottom guide element (2) under the contact area (1) for the bottom material web and a top guide element (3) for the top material web above the contact area (1), wherein the guide elements (2, 3) are each rotatably mounted about a rotation axis (2.1, 3.1). According to the invention, the rotation axes (2.1, 3.1) of the guide elements (2, 3) are arranged extending perpendicular to the contact area (1).

Abstract
The invention relates to a sewing machine, comprising a presser foot (2), which is pivotably supported about a horizontally oriented axis (1) and which interacts with an underneath transport device arranged on a resting area (3) for a material to be sewn, said underneath transport device having two feed dogs (4, 5) movably supported relative to each other for continuously transporting the material in an advancing direction. According to the invention, both feed dogs (4, 5) extend horizontally as viewed in the advancing direction, both in an area before and in an area after the axis (1) of the presser foot (2).
