Abstract

The present invention comprises a needle that holds a needle thread and moves up and down through a throat plate, a looper that holds a looper thread and reciprocates in a space below the throat plate to entangle the looper thread with the needle thread, a retainer that reciprocates in the space below the throat plate and captures the looper thread, and a retainer movement mechanism that changes the movement state of the retainer while transmitting driving force from a drive source to the retainer. For a given period of time during which the retainer is within a given range of positions in the space below the throat plate, the retainer movement mechanism performs the reciprocating motion at a lower speed than that used before and after the given period of time, thereby continuing the state in which the looper yarn is captured.

Abstract

A looper thread trapping and cutting part with blade is formed on the edge at the tip of a movable knife, and at positions in front and behind one another in the direction of reciprocating drive movement of the movable knife, on the edge and further towards the base of the movable knife than this looper thread trapping and cutting part with blade, are formed: a bladeless needle thread trapping unit that traps by catching the part of the needle thread protruding to the back side of the sewing fabric during the downward movement of the movable knife and in this state transfers the thread to a position further past the blade part of a fixed knife, and a needle thread cutting blade part that cuts, by sliding against the blade part of the fixed knife, the needle thread fed by the bladeless needle thread trapping unit to a position further than the blade part of the fixed knife. As a result of this configuration, it is possible to provide a thread-cutting device for double chainstitch sewing machine which, by reliably feeding the needle thread part that protrudes to the rear side of the sewing fabric when sewing is completed, to a predetermined cutting position, makes it possible to cut to a uniform stable remaining thread length, and to ensure an end of sewing part that has a good and uniform finish and appearance.

Abstract

A sewing machine for hem includes a turn-back device provided in front of a needle location position on a sewing machine bed, the turn-back device turning back an edge part of cloth into a state of being folded one above the other, and then feeding the turned-back cloth. In front of the turn-back device, a feed belt and a cloth presser foot are arranged opposite to each other with a cloth feeding path in between. By virtue of operation of a rotary solenoid performed on the basis of a detection result of a detector arranged in front of the opposing portion, the cloth presser foot is raised and lowered and thereby holds the cloth in cooperation with the feed belt so as to exert a movement force in the right and left directions onto the cloth.

Abstract

A cloth edge curl correction device includes: a support plate extending along the direction of feed of a cloth at a front position of a turn-back guide device folding up and down over a given width the edge part of the cloth to be fed into a needle location position on a cylindrical bed; a cloth support provided near the support plate and supporting the cloth from the under; and an air ejection nozzle ejecting air toward a base part of the cloth support. Ejected air from the air ejection nozzle is applied to the edge of the cloth on the cloth support so that a curl generated in the edge is smoothed and corrected and then the cloth is fed in a manner that the edge goes along the support plate.

Abstract

A thread hook and a looper thread holder are arranged on a rear side of a needle drop position of a sewing machine. When usual sewing is completed, the thread hook and the looper thread holder swing and move close to a looper. A hook part provided at a tip end of the thread hook holds a needle thread loop caught by the looper and positions it on an advance end side of the looper away from the needle drop position, and a thread receiving part provided at a tip end of the looper thread holder holds a looper thread extending from the looper to cloths and positions it on the front side away from the needle drop position. The sewing machine performs sewing for at least one stitch while maintaining positions of the needle thread loop and the looper thread.

Abstract

A thread hook (3) and a looper thread holding body (6) are disposed on the rear side of a needle entry position on a sewing machine. The thread hook (3) and the looper thread holding body (6) swing and come close to a looper once a normal sewing process completes. A hook part (3b) at the tip of the thread hook (3) holds a needle thread loop captured by means of the looper, and a thread receiving part (6a) disposed on the tip of the looper thread holding body (6) holds the looper thread extending from the looper to a sewing fabric, the hooked part (3b) and the thread receiving part (6a) each being located on the front side relative to the needle lowering position. The sewing machine performs a sewing process amounting to at least one stitch by maintaining the position of the needle thread loop and the looper thread. As a consequence it is possible to effectively prevent stitches from coming apart which typically occurs in a multi-thread chain stitch without being influenced by the tensile force of the needle thread and the looper thread.

Abstract

In a presser foot and a sewing machine according to the present invention, a guide hole is formed in a presser leg to which a fixed knife is attached, so as to passing through the presser leg up and down, and a knife holder is fitted and held to the guide hole. The fixed knife is inserted to a retention groove provided in a peripheral surface of the knife holder through a window hole provided in the presser leg, and is fixed by fastening a stop screw. A position of the fixed knife is adjusted in a vertical direction by moving the knife holder in the vertical direction along the guide hole and fastening the stop screw at an appropriate position, thereby changing a cut position of ends of fabrics and changing an overlapped width of the fabrics at a time of seaming.
