Abstract

In the present invention, a conveyance guide has a first conveyance guide and a second conveyance guide that are formed on opposite sides of a conveyance path so as to sandwich the conveyance path. A discrimination unit has a first sensor component, a second sensor component, and a holding member that has a media passage hole through which media pass, and that holds the first sensor component and the second sensor component on opposite sides of the media passage hole so as to sandwich the media passage hole.
