Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of tapering a toothbrush bristle which increases production efficiency. The method includes the steps of cutting bundles of toothbrush bristles; and non-directionally immersing the entire cut bundles of toothbrush bristles into a chemical solution to taper both sides of the toothbrush bristles. According to the present invention, the production efficiency of a needle-shaped bristle is increased approximately three-fold, and the loss of raw materials is greatly decreased because several processes are not performed.

Abstract

A toothbrush having needle-shaped bristles on the head portion is configured such that the differences in height between the longer and shorter bristles is 1 to 4 mm, the end points of the longer bristles are 0.01 to 0.03 mm in diameter, the end points of the shorter bristles are 0.03 to 0.08 mm in diameter, the taper lengths of the longer bristles are 4 to 8 mm, the taper lengths of the shorter bristles are 2 to 6 mm, and the differences in taper length between the longer and shorter bristles is 1 to 4 mm. The toothbrush provides superior teeth and gum contact force unique to a toothbrush having needle-shaped bristles and at the same time also provides superior cleaning performance for the surface of teeth thanks to the action of the shorter bristles having relatively large diameters at end points and relatively short taper lengths.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a toothbrush with needle-shaped bristles positioned in the head of the toothbrush, wherein the difference in height between the longer bristles and the shorter bristles is 1 to 4 mm, the longer bristles have an end point with a diameter of 0.01 to 0.03 mm, the shorter bristles have an end point with a diameter of 0.03 to 0.08 mm, the longer bristles have a tapered length of 4 to 8 mm, the shorter bristles have a tapered length of 2 to 6 mm, and the difference between the tapered length of the longer bristles and the tapered length of the shorter bristles is 1 to 4 mm. The toothbrush of the present invention maintains superior tooth and gum contacting force, which is unique to a toothbrush having needle-shaped bristles, and the end point of the shorter bristles has a relatively larger diameter and the tapered length of the shorter bristles is short, thus improving teeth cleaning performance. In addition, the shorter bristles contribute to retarding the abrasion at ends of the bristles, thereby lengthening the lifespan of the toothbrush.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a needle-shaped bristle having a short taper length. The method includes preparing a bundle of toothbrush bristles by mixing a polyester resin (a polyester resin other than a PTT resin) and a PTT resin in a ratio of 90˜40 to 10˜60 and spinning the mixture thereof; cutting the bundle of toothbrush bristles; and tapering the cut bundle of toothbrush bristles by immersing it into a chemical. According to the present invention, since needle-shaped bristles having a taper length of 6 mm or less can be efficiently obtained, the needle-shaped bristles can be implanted even in an anchorless toothbrush.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for tapering the brush of a toothbrush using grinding drums which have protrusions (11) with a height of 1.5 to 7.0mm, and which rotate in the vertical and horizontal directions, said method comprising a step of connecting the grinding drums in parallel, such that the grinding drums are arranged in a sequence wherein the heights of the protrusions (11) of each of the grinding drums are gradually decreased, and a step of enabling the toothbrush with a non-tapered brush to pass through each of the grinding drums in series such that the brush can be ground. The method of the present invention produces highly tapered brushes having a tapered length of 5mm or longer and an end thickness of 0.02mm or less even without immersing brushes into chemicals, and prevents thermal deformations which may otherwise occur in the tapering process performed by a mechanical method.

Abstract

The present invention provides a needle-shaped bristle and a method of manufacturing the needle-shaped bristle. The manufacturing method of the present invention comprises the steps of cutting and removing a packing sheet, which is wound around a bundle of bristles, by a length ranging from 30mm to 50mm from a first end thereof, and grinding first ends of the bristles using a rotating grinder. The manufacturing method further includes steps of packing the first end of the bundle of bristles, from which the packing sheet is removed, using a packing sheet, cutting the bundle of bristles to a length ranging from 22mm to 32mm, and immersing a second end of the cut bundle of bristles, thus tapering second ends of the bristles. Therefore, the present invention can efficiently provide a needle-shaped bristle, one end of which is tapered, and the other end of which is ground, and has an advantage of realizing a reduction in the proportion of defective products.

Abstract

A toothbrush having needle-shaped bristles with various end points and a method of manufacturing the same. The needle-shaped toothbrush bristle, folded in an asymmetric U-shape to outwardly expose both ends thereof at a height difference ranging from 0.5 to 2 mm and disposed on a head portion of the toothbrush, has a tapered length of 3-7 mm and a blunt end point with a diameter of 0.01-0.07 mm. The toothbrush is advantageous in terms of high insertion function into the periodontal pockets of the user while leaving the user with a refreshed feeling after brushing his/her teeth.
