Abstract

The invention relates to a manufacturing process of equipment for use in the production of nonwoven fabrics and paper products. According to the present invention, a sleeve for an embossing roller is produced using additive manufacturing, specifically 3D printing. These technologies permit the preparation of pattern-forming and dewatering details in the sleeve in a single operation. The dewatering properties may thus be optimised for the selected pattern, resulting in uniform dewatering tailored for the pattern. Preferably, the technique used is stereolitography.

Abstract

A nonwoven is provided having a pattern displaying at least two groups of areas having different optical properties distinguishable to reading and decoding equipment. The pattern may be arise from differences in the microstructure of the web. The nonwoven material may have an embossed pattern having a basic, static component and a dynamic component which varies within a given length of the nonwoven web. Further, a method is provided for obtaining information from a nonwoven web, comprising observing the web surface using an optical reading device, collecting data based on differences in optical properties in the web surface, storing in a digital memory a pattern based on the collected data and comparing the stored pattern to a collection of previously stored patterns.

Abstract

The invention relates to a nonwoven fabric material having sufficient strength to be used in a pre-moistened state but also having dispersibility properties which allow the product to be flushed. The material comprises at least two nonwoven webs, at least one of which is hydroentangled. Each of the individual webs comprise 50%-95% wood pulp and 5%-50% of short cut man-made fibers and/or natural fibers and has a basis weight of 20-100 gsm. After forming the webs, the two nonwoven webs are dried and then joined together by particle binders through size press or spraying. The particle binder joined webs separate into individual webs after flushing due to the breakage of particle binder-nonwoven hydrogen bond which makes the material highly dispersible.
