The present invention relates to stable gel laundry detergent composition. Although several approaches at providing laundry gel composition which provide desired viscosity, good cleaning performance while maintaining desired sensorial properties and appearance have been known, it is still desired to provide improved laundry gel composition. The present inventors have found that by incorporating a balanced combination of alkali metal carbonate and a hydroxyalkyl alkyl cellulose, it is possible to provide a laundry gel composition with desired viscosity and good physical appearance and the gel composition also provides good cleaning performance.
